2 vs. 1; Christmas sale
The good news about eBay is that you can get a Core for around $240 (I got one as low as $218)

2 vs. 1; Christmas sale
I own and have used every reel you mentioned. My personal favorite of them all is the Shimano Core 100 MgFV (The Core is an unbelievable reel, but I don't know if I would say it is the same as the Steez. The Steez is just unearthly, while the Core is by far the best reel that is earthly). But you have to look at your objective and need. I use the Sol for shallow crankbaits and am getting another one for spinnerbaits, because I like a slower IPT reel for these applications. I use the Core 100MgFV for Flippping, Frogs, Carolina Rigs, & Weighted Plastics, because I like a high IPT rate for these applications. The Core 50 Mg7 I use for light weight plastics and tubes, which is another application I like a higher IPT rate and a reel that can cast lighter lures. The Fuego is like a utility reel, I use it for applications I don't have a specific IPT preference in mind (if that makes any sense). So, you can't go wrong with any one of these, but there are reels that are better for certain applications over another, because of their IPT rate.

I have an Addiction
Must be a pain to clean all that.... It is challenging, which is why I keep a detailed spreadsheet of when the reel was last cleaned, when the line was put on (also, what type of line), upgrades made if any, etc. MY wife thinks I'm crazy, because I keep telling her, "Just one more reel and my collection will be complete," which it never is. For example, I went salmon fishing for the first time this past September, which means I had to get two trolling rods and line counting reels, plus a 9 wt. fly rod with reel (I mean, you have to have the right gear for the job). So for one outing, I added three more combos, and I fish for everything that swims. I really think it is an illness. The sad part is I think I get as much joy out of just playing with my stuff as I do using it.

Shimano Core Anyone?
Because you learned the right way...... I learned from the best...^

Merry Christmas!
How about Happy Winter Solstice? I don't know which religion or group even celebrate this, but if it is mentioned in a Gap commercial, they must be covering some Democratic.

Logging In
I definitely understand not being able to "get in" during maintenance mode, but if I happen to open the web page during maintenance mode, I am logged out so that the next time I open the web site, and it isn't in maintenance mode, I have to physically goto the log in in order to see personal messages, images in posts, etc. It is not a big deal, but since I am up late, I usually hit that maintenance mode every night, hence causing me to log back in the next time I goto the site. Obviously a very minor inconvenience compared to all the other great benefits I receive from this site, but I was just wondering if there was a way to shut people out during maintenance mode, but not physically log them out.

I have an Addiction
Hmmm...I may have the same addiction: 61 Baitcasting Reels 28 Spinning Reels 10 Fly Reels The only cure is to buy more.

Logging In
No to seem like a smart @$$, but is there anyway I could see the maintenance notification, but not be logged out?

Shimano Core Anyone?
I have several Core 100MgFV and the Core 50 Mg7. I think over time I will convert every reel I have over to the Core. This thing is unreal (and very easy to service). By far, the best reel Shimano (or anyone else, besides the Steez) has ever produced.

Logging In
I have found that if I goto the site while maintenance is being done (and see that maintenance message), I have to log in the next time I go on the site. If I don't happen to goto the site during the maintenance period, I never have to log in again (unless of course I open the web site during maintenance time). Question for Moderators or Glenn: Why is that?

I'm freakin out!
Man, being from upstate NY, you have the best of all worlds. You have the Salmon running in Sept., Browns in the Fall, and Steelhead all winter long. Then springtime hits and you are in smallmouth Heaven for at least 6 months.

Thief
I'm sure he is reading these. He last log in on TT was last night at 9:31pm, so even though he was banned from here, I'm sure he is still lurking. Is he still considered on the run? Imagine having to avoid authorities all the time. That would just be a miserable existence. His best bet is to just turn himself in and deal with what comes. In the long run, that has to be an easier answer then trying to hide.

I'm freakin out!
Take up fly fishing for trout/steelhead or ice fishing. There's nothing like a 28+ inch Steelhead to keep your fishing addiction at bay for a while.

BCR893
I have the GLX version of the BCR893. First off, that rod is a Senko machine (though, I'm sure it can do other tasks, but I have never used for anything other than Senkos). I first had it paired with a Daiwa Fuego, which was a good match, but recently put a Daiwa Steez 103SHA on it and it feels great. Since the Core 50MG7 is the same weight as the Steez, I assume it will feel the same. Granted, the balance point is a few inches in front of the reel, but with the set-up being so light overall, it is not uncomfortable or even that noticeable. I think you will be very pleased.

kidney stone
The stone I had was formed from Calcium and Oxalate. Oxalate is in a ton of stuff, so I don't know what in particular caused it, but I do know it hurt like a mother. I feel your pain and I hope you pass it soon.

Reel Gear Ratio Question
I did some tests for the IPT on my Curado 200E7 and Fuego. My Curado 200E7 gets around 28 IPT with a maxed out spool (not the 30 IPT that they report) and the Fuego gets 28 IPT with a maxed out spool (they say it gets 28 IPT). So in the end, you will get the same line pick from either one (independent of what they say the gear ratio is)

maintenance
Here's how I learn to service my reels. Goto ReelMechanics web site and goto the supplies section (http://www.***/shopping/storefront.html) . In that section Reel Mechanic has a book called "Table Top Reference Guide to Reel Maintenance." Get this book as it's worth it's weight in gold and follow it closely. As you get better at cleaning your reels by using this book, you will start to explore cleaning your reels in a little deeper fashion (e.g., soaking bearings, etc.). Also, I get my reel cleaning and lubing supplies from Reel Mech, because I really like his grease and oil and the "Reel Scrubber" is an absolute must. I hope this helps and good luck.

If you had the chance to sit down with one professional angler 1 on 1 and honestly talk FISHING...
My biggest weak point when it comes to fishing is new water. It seem that the first time I hit a new lake I have trouble, but after a few trips, I seem to do progressively better. So, I would like to talk to any top professional (KVD, Skeet Reese, etc) on how I can be more successful my first time on new water as opposed to developing some level of success by my third or fourth trip.

brand loyalty and the purchase decision
Other than wearing out the occasional spinner bait or Trap it took 10 years for me to wear out the paw & worm gear on a Shimano Calcutta 50A but that was more my fault than the product since I have a bad habit of engaging the spool while the bait is still in the air. I have that same bad habit. I haven't worn any gears out yet, but I don't get to fish nearly as much as you do.

5 lures you would carry
1. Wave Worm 5" Tiki Stick (Watermelon w/ Black Flake) 2. Megabass Vision 110 (Silver w/ Blue Back) 3. Jackall Crosstail Shad (Ayu) 4. Big Bite Squirrel Tail Worm (Taliapa) 5. 3/8 oz. Bass Pro Laser Eye Double Willow Spinnerbait (White)

Crankbait Rod
I don't have a private pond lined with naked women and filled with 10 lb. bass either (I exaggerated the bass size a little there, Steezy), but there is no need to be jealous for any reason. Enjoy fishing with what you have and where you go. So RedLineRobert and Steezy have much better equipment than I will ever have, but I have no animosity towards them. Seeing what they have helps me in my day dreaming.

brand loyalty and the purchase decision
I wonder how many fisherman who own the Wave Spin Reels and Pocket Fisherman marked this category?
-
brand loyalty and the purchase decision
I assume that was how the research was driven, but I would like to see what "most" drives fisherman to buy what they do, which would only take into account one opinion (and produce a 100% total).

brand loyalty and the purchase decision
I am not sure how these results were achieved, but I would think your results should add up to 100%.
