Florida riggin
Whats the difference between a florida rig weight, and a pegged bullet weight, aren't they the same thing? They both serve the same purpose.

Jig or Craw
It really is as simple as letting the fish tell you what they want. Although a ragetail craw is very versatile, and at times I'll use it over a jig, mostly in really weeded areas. (Though I fish a jig more then I do a craw.) What I'll do it peg it with a small bullet weight, small enough to get it to sink, but light enough for me to be able to bring it ontop of weed mats without it falling through. So what I can do is hop/crawl it back to myself, and when I come to a weed mat, bring the craw to the top, and crawl it ontop of the weed mat, imitating a frog or such, I've had so many bass explode on it like this. Another thing you can do is burn it on the top, and the feet will paddle like a buzzfrog. So you can crawl/hop it on the bottom, burn it on the top, and crawl/twitch it ontop of weed mats, all with the same bait, rigged the same way. But again, it really depends on what the fish prefer that day, that question is like asking "whats a better flipping bait, a tube, or a jig?", the fish need to tell you.

Berkley® PowerBait® Chigger Craws
I never really fished the chigger craws t-rigged. There not something I typically reach for. I use them as a cheap jig trailer alternative. Like if the fish are pretty aggressive, and theyre hitting the jig left and right, instead of using up my ragetail chunks or pacas, I'll cut a chigger craw in half and use that.

Best Lipless Crank
Well considering I have to deal with fishing 1-4feet waters in 85% of the fishing I am doing. My favorite lipless crank is a Lucky Craft Lv-0. I can work it in as shallow as 1 foot of water, and it still comes up weedless. I don't know, theres something about it that I believe keeps it swimming in the middle of the water column.

Rat-L-Traps: Quality Control Problems? (response from RatLTrap)
Don't think I ever had this sort of problem with cracks, or bad paint on them. Only problem I ever have is the hooks being total garbage, I have no clue what your talkin about TrippyJai, the hooks I get when I buy em at sportsauthority, or dicks are total garbage, I sharpen them with a hook hone.

brush beaver
Why didn't you post this question in your "Northland Brush Beaver" thread? It is the same bait is it not? Not trying to be an ***, but people here don't like it when you make alot of threads about the same stuff, especially when you already have a thread up talking about the same bait you are asking about here, in the same day.

swim jigs
Well, first off let me say I haven't mastered the art of swimming jigs. I really don't reach for a jig simply to swim it, because I am in the same boat as you, just don't know the right conditions it would be best for. But I can tell you this. Sometimes when I am using a jig with a paca chunk, or rage tail chunk trailer (2 trailers that have great action). And I am simply flipping/pitching the jig to a peice of cover, hopping/pausing it a few, and then making a new cast, instead of just ripping it back to me as quick as possible or hop/crawl/pausing it back to me, I'll slowly swim it back. And I have caught fish like this. I'll go as far to say this, I have had incidents where I was pitching/flipping to cover, and on the retrieve to make a new cast I'd swim it back nice and steady, and catch fish. I wasn't catchin crap when I was fishin it slowly near cover, but swimming it instead was getting more bites. So for the rest of the day I didn't bother flipping/pitching, I just swam the jig every cast, and if I remember correctly, I did pretty well that day. So I guess saying the fish will tell you what they want is true after all. So next time your pitching/flipping the jig, try to swim it on the retrieve back to yourself every now an again, and if you start getting bit, you know the time to swim a jig is now. Ps. The ragetail chunk, and paca chunk swim great...

top 5 favorite baits
1. Booyah Baby Boo Jig 2. Terminator 1/4oz Spinnerbait 3. Stanley Ribbit 4. Yum Wooly Hawgtail (its just so versatile) 5. Tie Between Sweet Beaver, and Zoom Baby Brush Hog.. But in all honesty, I use many many many different baits. It is extremely hard to label them down to my top 5. I'd say a jig, and a spinnerbait are my most used lures. Other then that, I use a ton of other baits, at different seasons, under different conditions, in different type of cover.

Northland® Slurpies Brush Beaver
Why not get a reaction innovation sweet beaver. Those are some great baits. My Dicks Sporting Goods has even been selling them now, check out your local Dicks, and see if they have them. Color wise go with a california 420, greenpumpkin, watermelonred, or sprayed grass for clear/slightly stained water. For heavy stained water/muddy, or overcast days, go with black/blue, penetration, or my favorite hematoma. (Yeah, I know, the names are great ) As far as fishing them goes, I find them to work best in thick pads, or heavy weeds. Basically because of their profile, it allows them to slip through weeds/pads easily. I pretty much always use them with a pegged bullet weight(enough weight to break through the weeds). I'll cast them to a peice of cover, usually a weed patch, and let the bait sit for a few secs, then give it a few hops, and let it sit, and just repeat process. Truly a fish catcher. Try them you won't be dissapointed. Oh, and hook wise, I believe I rig them with a size 3/0 EWG.

Booyah Pond Magic spinnerbait
War Eagle makes an incredible spinnerbait, definetly worth looking into Bronzeback. As far as the pond magics go, does anyone use a trailer hook on these? Seems like the bait is a bit small to equip any trailer hook to, no?

Deps basirisky
Next time I catch a frog, im going to bring that sucker home, hold him down and copy his belly pattern onto my frog with a marker, then release him the next day ;D. Can't do it at the park... people would think im molesting the thing... :-/

whats the best baits to have riged up
For me it'd be a jig, and a spinnerbait.

Spinnerbait trailer?
I'd say 95% of the time I find myself not using a trailer bait, I always like to use a trailer hook though. Although when I do use a trailer on a spinnerbait its usually either a single tail grub, or a yum boogie tail trailer (for a good price you get a bag of 20).

Storm Thunderstick - Any Good?
My friend who is just beginning to fish bought a couple of these, in the small size. Believe the lure is 2 - 2 1/2inches in length. Only thing I am worried about is I know Storm is known to create some crappy baits, though they do create some good baits also.. Anyhow, anyone fish the thundersticks, have they worked out for you, or do they act "funny"? Just want to know if he purchased junk or not. He got them 2 for 5$, so he thought it was a good deal. Hopefully they perform like theyre worth more then that .

Now that its over wasnt the chatterbait craze fun!
I agree 100%, this guy knows what hes talkin about. Before I found out about this, I hated the chatterbait, and didn't see why I should choose it over a spinnerbait. It is the perfect night time lure. What do bass use to find forage at night? Vibration. A silhouette color, such as black is a key too, but vibration is a big plus. And lets be honest, a chatterbait gives off incredible vibration. Which makes it a great night time bait. For any of the guys who says they don't like chatterbaits, or say they don't catch much with them. Do me a favor and get yourself a black/blue chatterbait (not a knockoff), and fish it with a black/blue hulagrub as trailer. Fish it at dusk/night. And then come back and say you still don't like it, if you still can..

Frogs
For me, I could careless how pretty the frog looks, I know the fish is not getting a good look at the frog 95% of the time, so I don't care about the designs on it, with one exception being the stomach of the frog. The stomach is the one thing that fish might get a glance at, so what I look for color wise on the stomach of the frog is any shades of green, white, or black will do. I don't care about how pretty the designs are, just a shade of either white, green or black. The top color of the frog is absolutely worthless to me, so I don't care about it. The 2 main concerns I am looking for in a frog are that it doesn't take on water, because what good is it to me if it floats for a few minutes, and then begins to sink!? Its good to go in the trash is what its good for... And lastly, that its soft, and the hooks rest on the top of the frog, not down low along the sides of the frog. What good is the frog if I can't hook the fish thats engulfing it? I have found softer frogs to get a better hookset, because imo they collapse alot easier when a fish's mouth is on them. So far I have found three frogs that are up to my standards, that is a original scumfrog, bobbys perfect frog, scumfrog popper style. Frogs that I have disliked, are spro, manns, a frog which I forget the name but it has 2 little feet that cross on top of one another. The spro frog I have found to have a bad hookup ratio imo. Some come softer then others, some come harder then others, some take on water. And some come with a pretty good consistency, not to soft, not to hard, doesn't take on water. But I am not payin 7$ a frog if theres a chance the frog is going to have a problem. I simply don't have the money for that.

Fishing again
Well, I seem to get a unnormally strong case of cabin fever, that being said I usually start goin out and catchin panfish in mid january. I'll target crappie with a 5"5' UL rod, and a trout magnet fished weightless on that tiny jighead they come with. If the lake/pond is completely frozen, then theres nothing I can do, and I leave. But if 95% of the lake/pond is frozen, I'll fish that 5%, and I've had days where I caught a good amount of crappie in that 5% of water. I have also caught a carp, a suckerfish, and plenty of sunfish, so you never know what your going to get hopping around a little trout magnet in the mid of january . As for the bass, I usually start "attempting" to fish for them in early - mid march. Though I find my chances of catchin rises come late March.

If i'm trying to finesse a rubber jig....
For a trailer I'd recommend a tiny paca chunk, or if your looking for less action, a 2.75 inch yum chunk.
