Yeah the camera on the s7 edge is pretty badass lol. And yeah i used to try and stick with natural colors and didn't do much good up here. One day i was with a buddy who was using a black frog with frill legs from shore, and he was absolutely smoking me. I asked him what the deal was and he told me that when a bass looks up he mostly sees whatever color the sky is "mostly white or blue" so he tries to pick the frog that would most contrast that so it's easier for the bass to see. Consequently black is the most contrasting in most circumstances for me so that's what i go with and have been much more successful. I also had to learn to fight against that quick hook set and let them have it for at least 1 mississippi before settin' her home. Hope that helps and good luck!

Over on Lake Tippy through Grassy Creek. Touchdowns and Kelly's are like crack to the LMB here but pulled up a lot of 1lb Dinks with the occasional 2-3lb chunker. All in all it was a good time. Got a buddy to bring in his first bass along with 2 more, and now I think he's hooked lol.

Honestly, tonight/tomorrow is the first i'm using the rod lol. I'll have to get back to you. It's rated 1/4 - 3/4oz so I imagine the 3/8 would throw great. It feels a little stiff for a medium but maybe it's just how crisp it is. Will report back after i've had a chance to put it through the gauntlet lol.

Alright folks I need some help. We're going over to the Lake Tippecanoe chain "Big tippi, James Lake, Oswego, etc..." for awhile in August and I'm looking for pointers so we don't end up getting skunked. I know the musky bite is probably going to be terrible with the water being so warm but what about the LMB and others? I see us doing a lot of top water frogging, jigs, dropshot/carolina/texas rigs, and dock skipping but does anyone know something they would care sharing so my family and I have a better chance and having a fish story or two to come back home with? Thanks in advance!

I dunno, I really dig the new mojo this year with the switch to the scIII blanks as opposed to the last gen scII.

Spent some time with dough bait over in Monticello on the Tippi river with my pops. Wasn't really a carp/cat fan until we hooked into some fatties lol. Good times and my pops ended up bringing in a 20+ pounder.

The wife's family is from around that area. I'll ask her pops next time I see him. "He was an avid fisherman with his brothers when they lived down there still."

Anyone Having Early Season Trouble?
NW indiana "La Porte" clear lake is starting to come alive. Caught a couple little guys 1.5-2lbrs shore-throwin a weighted hook and green watermelon worm bouncin' in. Top water hasn't been any good yet though.

New guy in NW Indiana
Hi folks! New guy here from La Porte Indiana that just got into fishing again over the last year. I've been to a lot of the little lakes around here but look forward to hitting a lot more. I fish mostly for bass but have tried for muskie without much luck. Looking forward to many adventures ahead!
