  1. I am in Minnesota for business and it was snowing today... I leave tomorrow (for Florida) and hopefully the snow will hold off until Saturday so I can get some serious fishing done this weekend!
  2. Take Avid's advice.... set the reel up properly and practice! Eventually you will become proficient at casting a baitcaster! I have seen many posts that say you should practice in your backyard... I feel you should practice on the lake! Take your baitcaster and your favorite lure (confidence lure that matches your setup) and fish the lake you know the best! It won't take long until you are making accurate casts and catching lunker bass! Kevin
  3. Fish now as often as you can, whenever you can! I spent 200 plus days on the water when I was younger. Now I am married with kids (and a full time job) and I am lucky to get out on the weekends! I love my wife and kids and my daughter is finally at the age where she asks to fish with me!!! In a few years, I am hoping my little guy will want to fish too and it will become a family affair! Anyway, cherish every chance you get to fish now, no matter what time of the day it is!!! Kevin P.S. I had an accident 2 years ago and didn't walk for a year (didn't fish either)... I am happy to be out on the water and if I don't catch a fish, I am still happy to enjoy nature no matter what time it is!
  4. Actually, the lottery is a tax on the mathematically challenged! ;D Think about the odds!!! Statistics 101
  5. Karma! I hate to be EARL, but I have recently started to believe in Karma! What comes around goes around! I was bank fishing the other day (didn't have a bite)... found 2 terminator spinnerbaits on a turned over tree trunk (the spinnerbaits were in good shape and it looked like someone placed them there)... I went to pick them up and thought that someone that may have placed them there by accident... I left them there hoping that the owner would find them the next time they fished the lake... anyway, I nailed a 4.2 pounder 10 casts later!
  6. I am buying one of these!!! 30" of swimbait and some guy said he caught a 100lb bass with it... http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=69777&hvarSearchValue2=248&hvarSearchValue3=917&hvarSearchValue4=01&hvarTarget=search&AFID=&sourceid=&cmCat=SEARCHRESULTS ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  7. It wasn't the first time I had a lure sail across the lake! Hopefully it will be the last! I couldn't imagine losing a $20+ swimbait like that! Anyway, great advice! Thanks
  8. Great post! I read a similar post the other day and while fishing, I nailed a 3 pounder. I proceeded to look at the line and thought, no need to retie! 10 casts later, my Leverage Buzzbait broke off and sailed into the middle of the lake! Lesson learned!
  9. Tampa checking in!!! Kevin
  10. I am with you Raul... I have a 25 HP Mercury that hasn't run in 3 years and it is going to the service center! Rather be safe than sorry and out a few hundred bucks!
