  1. 3.5" Reins Bubbling Shaker in the Mueller Madness color.
  2. Ill be honest. I fish a lot of topwater lures. I am sponsored by IMA Lures, and their topwater baits are awesome.... But, when the going gets tough I really like to downsize my topwater and focus on the Rapala Skitter Walk. I've caught big Smallmouth but I've also caught big Largemouth.
  3. Go grab yourself some hair jigs and throw those. They wont let you down. Match that hair jig up with your favorite smaller trailer bait, the Reins Ring Craw is an excellent choice. But anything smaller in profile will work well for the hair jig. If that doesn't work, I would throw the obvious, which would be a jerkbait. With the drop in temperature, those baitfish may go into shock and a jerkbait would perfectly imitate them. lastly, I would pick up a bait that's very overlooked. The Super fluke. If the water temps don't drop too much I would either throw that on a shaky head or I would throw it weightless. Hope this helps, good luck!
  4. Go with the Triton 189 TRX.... Stratos sells their 2016 189 VLO for 31K (Base Model) and Triton sells their 2016 189 TRX (Base Model) for 28K... Both boats have 150 H.P Mercury Pro X.S's. Triton has a 1" beam advantage which may not seem like much, but when you get in the rough water, it makes a difference... Just putting the option out there, that is all! Hope this helps a little!
  5. Those aren't even close to all of the clubs in CT. Those are all the clubs that are affiliated through the B.A.S.S Federation. In order to fish the Federation, you have to join one of those clubs.
  6. I disagree. I have seen Largemouth behave just like Smallmouth in river systems. I believe that if a Largemouth and a Smallmouth lived in the same stretch of river, they would take on the same behaviors. Now, if you're referring to the differences between a Smallmouth living in a river and a Largemouth living in a pond, I would agree. But to answer the question for TexRex, I would say that Smallmouth prefer a smaller profile and much more of a finesse presentation than a largemouth likes. Many people would disagree with the downsizing of lures to catch Smallmouth, but its true that you will catch more fish downsizing. I'm not saying that throwing a big wave bait wont catch you a Smallmouth, but you wont have nearly as much luck with it. Hope this helps!
  7. Who says that? I caught 3/4 of my fish from muddy water on jerkbaits. Just pick up a jerkbait that has some rattles and/or flash! The IMA Flit 120 actually does a very good job for me.. A little pricey but works very well.
  8. Throw a suspending jerkbait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Chautauqua is a dock lake.. Lots and lots of docks. Flip the docks and you will be rewarded with both smallmouth and largemouth!
  10. Depending on time of year: Spring: Blade bait Jerkbait Hair Jig Drop-Shot Summer: Drop-Shot Finesse Jig Swimbaits Topwater Fall: Blade bait Rattle Trap Drop-Shot Finesse Jig Winter: Blade Bait Jerkbait Hair Jig Shaky Head Of course this is all dependent upon conditions. But I hope this helps you!
  11. Anyone know anything about this lake? I've been there in 2014 but didn't catch as many as I was hoping. I'm going back in June and would love any help I could get. Thank you!
  12. I've read a lot about this lake, because like yourself, I will be heading up June 26th and fishing until July 2nd! But what I found was swimbaits and drop-shot for smallmouth. But when you find the smallmouth schooling, you should be using a topwater! For largemouth I've read that during the summer months they're in the weeds, which tells me that you have to flip the cover!
