  1. Hello All, I recently just purchased my first glass boat. 2013 Nitro Z7 with the 150 four stroke. I have a few random questions regarding the boat that I hope some of you have answers to. 1. Can I pull a skier with this boat? A couple times a year my wife and I head down to south MO and some of our friends usually end up going. I have already been asked by them if we are going to be getting a tube and wake board for our trip next year. Honestly this did not cross my mind at all when I was looking for a boat. My only concern with pulling from my boat are the connections at the back are very close to the outboard. I will snap some pics later but I am sure some of you know how close they are to the motor. Just curious if anyone has done this with a 13 Z7 and what will I need if so? 2. I would like to have some tunes while I am fishing sometimes. Anyone installed a marine radio on this boat? I have seen one or 2 installs in the passenger console but I remove the console every now and then depending on how many people I have fishing with me. I am trying to find the ideal spot to mount the unit and the 2 marine speakers. 3. I need some options for an anti slip deck pad. I have a few spots on the boat that are showing just a small amount of wear that I would like to protect. The loom for the wiring harness going into the outboard is rubbing on the glass at the back and starting to wear the paint off. I can provide pictures later. There are also a few spots on the inside I would like to cover. I am sure I have more questions and I will post when they come up. Thanks for any input guys!
  2. Finally got my new boat!
  3. I pulled the trigger early. I went ahead and bought a boat. 2013 Nitro Z7 DC with a Mercury 150 four stroke with only 48 hrs. Ill post some pictures later on
  4. Thanks for the response. I have been looking for a four stroke but there are not that many out on the used market around here. With the large two stroke outboards, do you feel like there is a ton of maintenance or is in the shop quite often? Does anyone have any comments on engine manufacturers within the last 7-8 years? Mercury? Evinrude? Yamaha?
  5. Hello All Spring of 2017 I plan to purchase a new / slightly used bass boat. I need some help from everyone. Any insight would be very helpful on what you have owned along with any regrets you may have in your purchases. Currently I have a 2000 pro team 175. I 100% will not buy another aluminum boat. I am sick of getting blown all over on a breezy (not windy) day and lack of storage (especially rods) frustrates the hell out of me. This was my first boat and I have learned a lot from it about what I would like to have in a new boat. The biggest lakes I may fish once or twice a year would be Table Rock Lake or Lake of the Ozarks. Budget is between 30K- 40K. Any input on new vs. used, brand, size, engine mfg. and size, storage, electronics, accessories, features, and so on. I would prefer to stay 5 years or less on a used boat if possible. I do also fish several smaller lakes around my area that have an electric only motor requirement or idle only. I have fished a few tournaments over the last couple of years but would like to do more once I have something that can carry more gear and so on. I know this is fairly vague but I am curious to hear what everyone has to say about possible boats on the market today.
  6. I had the tires replaced and "knock on wood" the trailer is smooth and no issues. Hopefully this solved my problem. Thanks for the input everyone!
  7. I appreciate the help guys. I am going to replace the trailer tires in the next few days. They need it regardless if they are they problem or not. If I have the problem again I will pull over and check to see if anything is hanging up. Thanks again!
  8. I am positive there are no brakes on the trailer. When this was happening I was able to see both wheels spinning (not locked up) through my mirrors. There was no wobble in the wheels either. I am replacing the tires this week on the trailer and I will have them check the allignment if they can. The temp was around 26 when we left at 5:30am and on the way home it was around 55.
  9. I do not have a brake controller installed
  10. 2013 Tundra Crew Max with the 5.7L V8. It does have a transmission cooler. Transmission temp was fine at them time. The truck should have absolutely no issue pulling that boat.
  11. I did not use the parking brake. Truck drives fine after I unloaded the boat and trailer. There are no brakes on the trailer. I did jack both sides of the trailer up and checked the bearings. No slop and both wheels rotated fine. Smooth and no noise.
  12. New to this site so hopefully so hopefully I am posting in the correct spot. I had an issue towing my boat and trailer this weekend. Quick background. Boat and trailer is a 2000 Bass Tracker Pro Team 175W. I bought this last year and have had it out a ton with no issues. Friday 3-18-16 we went to Mozingo Lake about 40 miles from home and had no issues on the way up. On the return trip home I stopped to drop my friend off (probably 30 miles into the return trip with no issues still). When I got back on the highway after a mile maybe I noticed something was wrong. My truck felt like it had the brakes on and when I let off the throttle there was a horrible shake/vibration in the truck and the truck slowed more than normal. This continued for several miles and eventually smoothed out some. I have not towed the boat since but I have checked a few things. Bearings look and feel great. No slop in the wheels and sounds smooth when spun. They have not been replaced since I have owned the boat but I have greased them. Tires do have a noticable flat spot (maybe 3-4 inches long) on the inside portion of the tire. The inside looks to be worn more than the outside. I assume the tires are the original ones. Anything else I can check would be much appreciated. Could this be caused by the tires being in the condition I described?
