Fishing an aerator?..
Ok so I'm looking for a bit of advice here. Fishing a private reservoir that has a few aerators in about 17 feet of water. Water is a bit stained maybe 6" of visibility. The are huge bait balls of shad that are all up and down of the bubbling aerators. I know that is where the bass have to be with these huge schools of bait. I just don't know how to approach such open deep water like this. There is going to be a tournament here this weekend and I just can't seem to lock down a pattern. Any advice on how to fish this situation? I appreciate it!

Fishing Lures
may seem like a far fetched question but doe anyone have any insight of where I can shop for a fishing lure lot to get stocked up for this spring. Looking for some decent hard bait cranks and jigs mainly. I love the strike king red eye shads and football jigs and flipping jigs but they get pricey and I tend to lose them. Looking for maybe an off brand that performs good for a cheaper price that I can buy in bulk. Any ideas or insight on this please let me know! Thanks guys!

Fishing half frozen lake!
I'll have to try to throw the football jig around see what happens I might slim the skirt down to make a smaller profile and Yeah I was getting a ton of them with jigs and waxies sure I would have to fight through a mess of bluegill and crappie but I had caught a couple 3lb and a really nice 4lb. I have it on my channel last time I posted my channel I got banned for promoting it. I won't link it but I have the vids up on YouTube channel: 402 Fishing

Fishing half frozen lake!
Ok so this weekend I will be hitting the lake. I have had great success icefishing the laydowns on this lake with a very small 1/32 oz jig and waxies. We have had some warm days and all that ice is now open water. How can I approach this open water from the bank. Like I said I have been using a very small profile jig. I don't know if they would hit something larger. Was wondering if anyone had some advice on what to use in these 30° water situations. Thinking of drop shot or shakey head worm. Maybe even the ned rig. But I'm not so sure they would be willing to strike a large profile bait. Any suggestions out there. Greatly appreciated thank you

Ice jigging for pike
Hey all so this winter I have been doing a little ice fishing. Mainly for crappie and other pan fish. The other day I caught a 30" 6lb pike while I was jigging for crappie. I'm not gonna lie, it was a rush. Mainly to the fact that I was using 4lb fluorocarbon line.. I was wondering if I wanted to target these pike or even walleye on a spinning jigging set up was wondering what type of main line and leader or no leader. I was thinking maybe 10lb braid to barrel swivel to fluoro or mono leader. Not quite sure what I should be using its just a small reel ice rod with MH ice rod. Any suggestions on this?

fall jig ssuggestions
Around here the air and water temps have gone down drastically in the past couple weeks. I have had some major success dragging a 3/8 ounce football head jig with a rage tail craw for trailer. Just a slow drag and when you hit a piece of cover just give a few subtle shakes. I been fishing it slow and fairly deep. The water been pretty clear so I have been going with a green pumpkin. 14pound fluorocarbon so I can really feel the bottom contour.

Cold water
Looking for just a suggestion of baits for cold water bass fishing. Water from 34-42 degrees. Mostly for the transition from fall into winter before the water freezes up.

Football Jig
So for this fall the football head jig has been the best fishing for me. I get on this afternoon bite that is just wild! Caught 3 four plus pound bass on 3 cast in a row. Just dragging, bumping cover, and occasional shake. My question for today is line.. I had been using 14# mono and I feel like I may have lost a few fish that I didn't even know we're there due to line slack and sensitivity. I am fishing probably 10-16ft in cold clear fall waters. I was going to put on braid but I don't know if the fish would be line shy and get finicky. The. I was going to go with braid and a leader. Or just straight fluorocarbon but I find it hard to cast with anything higher that 12# fluoro it is just so stiff and causes a loose spoil after cast and backlashes. I really want to use like a 14# Fluoro but I do t understand why it is such a pain. I have used the red lable seagar in the past and I don't know if they make a better less frustrating Fluoro with less memory. Any help would be appreciated thank you

Why did the bite shut off..
Hey all. I just first wanted to say thank you for all your guys help. This forum has made me a better angler all around. Today I have a question. I live in Nebraska the fall weather is in full swing now. Water temps have dropped substantially. Started off the fall transition fishing the bass up shallow chasing shad had much success. Mid to late fall I have had great success with dragging a football head jig in a brownish green pumpkin with a subtle trailer. Just dragging slow hitting structure and a little shake and they been slamming it. Had got me some great 5 pounders this last weekend. Went out today and got 3 four pound bass in three cast. It was amazing then as soon as the sun went behind the trees the bite immediately. Not a single bite after that. Could they not see it? Should I have switched to a black and blue? Or should I have switched to a different bait all together. I was thinking when the sun was up they were kind of holding on the bottom and when the sun went behind the trees they kind of left their holding and started roaming around. Any tips or advice would help so much. Thanks guys!

Rage Rig!
Nice! I will have to try that menace for sure. How do you like to fish it what type of hook bullet weight pegged or no peg. I'm always looking for good suggestions.

Rage Rig!
Ok so the other day I was fishing a kietech swing fat on a swim bait hook. With no hits on that I messed around and put a rage tail craw in black and blue on it. First cast, hit the bottom, twitched twice and wamm! Reeled in a 5.2 pounder. Came back to research this and turns out it's a well known rig to some. I love how the bait falls perfectly horizontal. I went ahead sand purchased the correct hooks made for this rig by moaner hooks. I also picked up 3 packs of rage craws in black and blue. I got some jj's magic and was going to give it a try but I'm wondering what chartreuse would do to black and blue. Would it show up or be pretty faint. I can't see any dips of black colored plastics. This rig overall is awesome. Can't wait to get the new hooks and tear it up this summer!

"Pressured" Ponds/Lakes
I get it mixed up a lot. If they mean high pressure as in a lot of anglers fishing a lake or high barometric pressure. Which I think they both shut the bite down a little bit. I look for lower dropping pressure across the board haha!

Fishing Points
With the Texas rig I usually fish them weightless. When I peg it I use a 5/16 bullet weight and in the weeds it seems to get stuck (a lot) so I give it a jerk to break it free and I feel like doing that spooks the fish. Then I get impatient and start fishing it too fast. Should I use a lighter weight and just twitch it ever so often. Or should I bring my rod tip straight up out of the weeds and let it fall. I have caught plenty of fish on senkos but that was pre spawn and they would hit anything and there were no weeds growing yet.

Fishing Points
I am fishing in Nebraska it's been in upper 90s the past week or two so the temps are pretty high. I been trying to find some good waters around here. We have the platte river but I have never caught a bass out of it. I wouldn't know where to begin fishing the river lol! I try to find shaded areas but from the bank it's all weeds. I try topwater but don't have much luck in the afternoon and plus the water is still a little stained from all the rain we have had.

Fishing Points
I am having trouble with summer fishing in this 100 degree weather. I am a bank fisherman. And I need an easy way to detect points and underwater structure. I feel like anytime I find a point, straight out its almost completely flat and shallow the sides have a little depth to them but i still don't have much luck with it. I guess I'm looking for some hot weather bank fishing techniques. I try to fish deeper but without electronics it's hard to find a decent group of fish. The only luck I've had is early evening with a spook along the bank but I will catch one and that will be it. So should I fish the flat part of the point or the sides. Should I be fishing the middle or the bottom. Should I be fishing much slower in the heat? Just looking for advice to beat these dog days of summer. Thanks

Line strength help
Ok my setup is a Shimano Citica bait cast reel. I have been using 12# fluoro line flawlessly until I had a fish break me off on some rip rap. I beefed up to a 15# fluoro and am having horrible backlashes. With the 12# I could turn the break basically off and pitch the lightest of jigs with ease. Now with the 15# I can't even cast without backlash. It's quite stressful. Not quite sure what to do. I am using the cheaper seguar red label fluoro. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appriciated

shimano baitcasting reels quality
My Shimano Citica has had back play in the reel handles since I took it out of the box. Not too impressed with the quality.

Shiman Citica problem
I have owned this Shimano Citica for a few months now and I have noticed the reel handle has play in it going in and out of the body. Every thing else seems normal but I am concerned about the play it has in the handle. Is this normal?

Question about crankbaits
What line do you use? I have been using 12# fluoro and I think it sinks too fast and that could be part of my problem. I think if I used mono it would stay a little higher. What type of line should I use with spinner baits? I have been using 12# fluoro and I think that's part of my problem being that it sinks quickly. You think I should I switch to mono to keep it a little higher in the water?

Question about crankbaits
It seems like with the half ounce I could burn it back right after it hits the water with my 7.1:1 bait cast reel and my rod tip as high up as I can go and it still will get hung up. I think it is just way too shallow for a half ounce I'm gonna have to slim down to 1/4 ounce or a wake bait. I wanna be able to just slow roll this thing near the bottom. But I get snagged and it wrecks my day haha!

Question about crankbaits
Are the wake baits strictly top water or do they dive a little bit. I live in Nebraska and I don't think the water has warmed up enough yet to fish topwater
