    I recently bought by first baitcaster, a shimano citica/BPS extreme 6'6" Medium heavy combo and am very happy with it.

    I'm new to bass fishing myself and have already learned from experience what avid was explaining. The largest bass I pulled in this year was on my first cast of the day, with a jig, deep in the lilly pads and about 5 feet for the shoreline. It was about 4 1/2 - 5 lbs. Read up on this website and you will learn a lot. Just keep fishing and don't get discouraged. Good luck

    d**n I'm glad I read this. I was trying to decide on the combo also. The Citica felt a bit heavier, but I'll go with the quality choice any day. I also heard that BPS reels were made by Pflueger and it's hard to find anybody to service them. Is this true?
