I'm having trouble with my bait-caster when i push down on my spool release button and cast it will pop back up and make a bad grinding sound and at the same time my reel handle spins along with my spool when it pops back up am i just casting too hard or is something broken inside my reel? It doesn't happen every cast it usually happens randomly sometimes every 5 cast or even 10 cast i can still reel my line in smoothly.

my bait caster was totally fine today until later on the day when i made a cast it made a loud buzzing noise and at the same time my reel vibrated and i also got a backlash. after that first occurrence it keeps making the buzzing/vibrating and I get a backlash every cast I make. what could be the problem?

I fish at a reservoir and since its summertime the water here is very green/muddy. What kind of color baits would you guys use?

i noticed that the bass i caught had red bruises/blood spots on its belly and side area is it some kind of infection? is it bad if i touched it?

Just curious, what do you guys use when you get no bites for a long time. I've been fishing for about 3 weeks with no bites at all i feel like these bass at my reservoir are picky. Is it just the fish or me? in these rough situations what would you guys do?

So recently I have been on a dry streak lately im not sure if its me or its the fish. I have been trying so many worm color, crank baits, jigs, etc and i have not been getting any bass at all while other people around me are getting bites all day. I Understand that there are some days where fish dont always bite but i could use some tips. Should i slow down on my actions on worms or twitch it faster etc.

This is my first time using a baitcaster, recently when i cast i get backlashes my line will get twisted which prevents it from casting. (ill try my best to describe this) then i see that it gets stuck through the line which kind of looks like it got threaded through the line in my spool and when i try to pull it im not able to pull any line out so i have to play with it till it gets free. I also notice that my line will get bent it which makes a V shape. is the backlash causing my line to snap half way through my cast? any tips how i can prevent this from happening? im using a 15 lb mono.
