  1. I fish mainly in the cumberland river in TN and creeks and coves that branch off of it. I have found some good prespawn locations in one of the bigger creeks i fish. Mostly in some deep bends of the creek with rocky shollow water close by. My question is where else would be some good places to look. Especially in the river. Alot of the smaller coves are really shallow with mostly muddy banks. Would these be good spawning sites for bass? Joe
  2. Wow thanks for all the advice. I am still going through college and dont get to fish as much as id like to, maybe 3 times a month. Right now im looking for something that will get me by for a couple of years. I still need to save up for a nice depth finder for my boat. So i think i may just try this pinnacle reel. For as much as i fish this may last me till i finish school at least. Thanks.
  3. I was needing another reel and was kinda just looking around. I saw a pinnacle platnium plus reel at wal-mart, and for forty bucks looks like a pretty nice reel. I dont have alot of money to spend on fishing stuff so budget is a problem. I was wondering what yall think about em and any other suggestions for a reel in the forty to sixty dollar range. joebass
  4. Wow i didnt know speedometers on boats where so inaccurate. I really enjoy my boat, and 40 mph seems like im going pretty fast on the water. But everyone knows once you get use to 40mph you want 50mph and so on. Thanks for the suggestions.
  5. Thanks for the suggestions guys i really aprreciate it. I guess i was hoping thier may have been a few cheap things to do to get a few mph. I think ill just enjoy the ride and consintrate on my fishing instead. May save my money and get a little nicer rig.
  6. Sorry guys this is my first boat. yes i do have a jackplate i just didnt know what it was called. Its not hydraulic though. Are their any adjusments i can make to this to get a little more speed? Does 40mph sound about right for top speed of this motor and boat? And i wasnt really wanting to spend much money on it. I spend most my extra money on tackle. Thanks for the tips, these message boards are really helpfull to beginners.
  7. Im reading my speed from a speedometer. Does 40 mph sound about right for top speed for that motor?
  8. Hey, I have a 86 jason bass boat. Its 15'9'' with a 94 johnson 100. My top speed is a little under 40mph. I was wondering if their is any adjusment s i can make to det a few mph. I has a part on back to adjust the motor vertically would this help anything? Any suggestions to get me to my fishing holes faster, besides buying a bigger boat, would be greatly appreciated. Joebass
