Reel repair?
Would love to help you. I have been tearing Abus apart for a while now and they are pretty easy fixes. Tell me what it is doing and I will be more than happy to help. Then you can send it to me, I will clean it up and fix it, if I have the part here, no charge. If I have to order it I will only charge you what the actual cost is. Let me know................

bps extreme baitcast reel repair
The best way to make sure you can clean and/or repair your reel is to buy a Abu Garcia round reel. There are a ton of sites on the net that walk you through the process. I have several if anyone needs them. You can also call Abu Garcia and talk to a representative about ordering parts and they cost you about half of what everyone else is selling them for. I love Shimano, Daiwa, and Quantum PT's but Abu Garcias are the easiest to clean and repair

bps extreme baitcast reel repair
I tear down and repair some reels several times a year and the main problem is that when someone puts them up they do not clean and lube them. The gears in some reels are plastic and it depends on what climate you live in they will get extremely dry from all of the heat in the house and no humidity. That will ause the worm gear, mostly plastic, to dry rot if you may. Once you have spun one or two teeth off of it the reel will make some horrible noises when cast and reterieved. I hope this helped and good luck

Powder coating reels
I took six Abu Garcia reels that I had taken apart, cleaned, and repaired to the local powder coat shop and the results are going to be incredible. They will sandblast them with 80 grit sand, completely mask off all of the threads on the body and side plate and powder coat them with color for 160 dollars. I know that sound like a pretty good amount of money, but the results will be out of sight. The only thing was that he could not do the side plate that the handle and drag star are on because we could not get the bearing out of it. Now worries though, I will mask them off, prime them and paint them. I will take pictures of them as soon as I get them back in the middle of next week. It is possible to do, just keep at it..............................

Best way to rig with Tube hook
I have watched several people use the tube hooks with the lead on the end of them. The problem that I have is that some of the tubes that I throw will not take the abuse of shoving the weight thru the plastic. Does anyone have any insight on a better way?

How to Powder Coat used reels
I appreciate your help, I will do just that and find a local shop that has powder coating. I never thought about the fact that you needed to cover the threads, thanks for that as well. I will let you know what happens and post pics when they get done. That is if they ever do. Mike

How to Powder Coat used reels
I hope this is the right section I have some great Abu Garcia - Ambassadeur reels that I have restored and was wondering if anyone knew how to paint the reels. I could take them apart all the away to a skeleton, but did not know if someone could powder coat them or if I could use the powder paint that you use for jigs. I do not know how to prep them for the paint..................... Help.!!! It would be cool, maybe a little costly, but great to have some new paint on them.

Dip Powder
A friend of mine makes the best jigheads that I have fished with, (Let me know if you need any and I will give you his contact info) but they are plain lead with red hooks. I decided to take the chance and get some of the dip powder paint and fix them up. I have done about 50 now and was wondering if anyone could give me any inside tips on how to customize these great Jigheads. Like I said these are great jigheads with great hooks.

G-Shad, large plastics
I have been bass fishing for years and now I am moving to San Diego. I have heard that the large plastics are the way to go. I bought a large lot of Yum G-Shad from Ebay and now I am stumped. I looked at the baits and really do not know how to rig them. I do not want to tear one to pieces trying to get it right. The baits are 6 inches long and look like they would work great with a Zoom 5/0 toad hook, but how will they react in the water as far a action goes? If someone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.
