"Pressured" Ponds/Lakes
Last weekend I fished a 40 acre lake/pond. It was like playing bumper boats out there with all the other fishermen. Caught some dinks on a war eagle spinner bait. Decided to try some new shakey heads and put a strike king super finesse elastek worm on. Caught 5 fish in the 3 lb. range along with a few smaller ones within 3 hours. Don't be afraid to try something new for awhile. I am now a huge shakey head fan to say the least.

Top 3 go to River Smallie Setups
6'6" mf spinning rod 6-8 lb. Floro or mono for finesse. 7' med. spinning 10-12 lb floro For tubes, jigs, and lighter treble hook lures. 7' mh casting 12 lb+ floro or mono for jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, heavier treble hook lures. With these I can throw just about any lure presentation I want for river smallies.

Fishing Backpack
Loved my bass pro xps stalker but it got stolen last year with a ton of baits and lures inside. Couldn't find another one that wasn't out of stock unfortunately. Looked at the twh bag but it was also out of stock. Settled for the bps 360 and it's a great bag with a lot room. I think the stalker is built better though. I'm thinking about getting another some time just for an excuse to buy more lures lol.

Looking for a new crankbait
I didn't see anyone mention wiggle warts. I have not thrown one yet but people claim they work when nothing else will. Picked up three during the twh sale this last weekend. Hoping they produce as well as some say.

Nice One on a Sweet Beaver!
I have a box full of beavers I need to start using. I just can't break away from throwing tubes. Maybe next weekend. Congrats on the great fish.

Where are the smallmouth?
Try a shakey head with a zoom trick worm or something similar. Sounds like a great spot for it as long as there is not a lot of grass that will bunch up on your jig head.

Not sure how I did it.
A couple weeks ago I was throwing a Spro little John and hooked what I thought was a big largemouth. To my suprise I reeled in a 4 lb. Channel cat by the tail.

Hello from Idaho
Hi everyone. Tyrel here from the mountains of north central Idaho. Started fishing as soon as I was old enough to hold a pole, mainly chasing trout in the many small mountain streams here. Around 15 years old I started playing around with smallmouth in the rivers and a little bit of lmb in a very small lake. Those hard fighting smb gave me the fever bad and turned me into a tackle junky, as many of you are. This site is amazing and I just had to join. Thank you for sharing your valuable knowledge. We can all learn a thing or two no matter a person's exsperience.
