  1. I received a couple replies on 1 or 2 of my questions. Was curious if i might be able to ask again. Dont want to make anyone made just looking to see if things would work before i buy. Can anyone tell or show pics of how they are mounting their fish finders and transducers? Can anyone tell me if this motor will fit. Here are the specs, Transom Height to Center Prop: 21" Transom Height to Cavitation Plate: 16" If it helps i plan to run a 45 lb thrust trolling motor on front and this 3.5 hp motor on back if the specs i listed will work. Hoping to find someone with about same motor specs so i know it will work.
  2. Would anyone mind to measure the transom mounting top where th motor would mount tot he bottom where props would need to be in the water?
  3. If i asked this question already i am sorry and i can delete. I am looking to order my motor for the back of my bass raider so i can have it all here at about the same time. My supplier sent me some specs to go off of. Can someone help me with these specs and if they will work or not as i dont have the raider here to try and figure it out. Well that and its all Greek to me lol.. Here are the specs i was sent Transom Height to Center Prop: 21" Transom Height to Cavitation Plate: 16"
  4. I was looking at the ram mounts yesterday. Ill have to either order some of the yak-attach track systems or find another way to mount it. Hard to drill holes in a new boat that you can t get to the back side of. Also has anyone had one of the bass raiders open. I watched a video where someone filled areas that didnt have any hard foam with expansion foam for more stability. Oh Boostr thanks for the info and help. I do appreciate it.
  5. What size motor is that and does it push u and another pretty decent?
  6. Thanks I am sure I'll have more questions. Everyone here has been a great help so far. I need to find images of how everyone is mounting FF transducers.
  7. I did. Thanks.
  8. The lakes range around here. 5 ft to about 100 or so. Depending on the lake. We have one lake that the deepest area is about 18 ft. It's a newer lake and still filling. The game and fish control and stick it and keep it very well stick with a lot of brush and so on. Thanks for for all the replies. I found the 5 si for 409 so I think I'll do that. I still need to go pick up boat and all my other junk like motor. Trolling motor. Batteries and all that other good stuff.
  9. Thanks for the info. I am not to sure about drilling holes in the boat under the water line. Id rather be safe than sorry since these boats are not any type of metal or fiberglass. I would rather make it where i can remove it from this boat and take it with me on my father in laws boat as well if i can.
  10. I am really interested in the side imaging. I am kinda geek so i think i would spend a lot of time just playing with the FF. That and i like to dive so be a cool way to see in real life what was below me lol How did you mount your system to your Bass Raider if i may ask?
  11. Think i might have them narrowed down to these 3 lol. Lowrance Elite 5 Ti TotalScan Fishfinder/GPS Combo Garmin STRIKER™ 7sv CHIRP Sonar/GPS Fishfinder Combo - but not gps or maps Humminbird Helix 5 SI GPS Fishfinder
  12. Also what weight anchor are you fellers using on the raider?
  13. Its not to bad of a river really. I think i am going to do the 3.5 hp motor in rear and the 55lb thrust up front. I should be fine. We kayak and canoe down it all the time lol. There are a couple of quick s curves but thats about the worst of it. Its called spring river. I was just more debating on 2 electric or one electric and one gas. I think tho with the weight savings from going with one gas and one electric instead of all electric will be worth it as well. I have looked a few times on the conversion from what hp rating the trolling motors would be rated at but haven't really found a good one to trust bc of so many variables. Can someon tell me if this motor will work for the bass raider? here is teh specs on measurements. I dont have my raider yet so i cant measure. Transom Height to Center Prop: 21" Transom Height to Cavitation Plate: 16"
  14. I may have asked this but cant find it. Has anyone ever used a foot controlled bow mount type ) the one that is flat and you lift and fold over the trolling motor in water.) on the back of a bass raider? I am leaning more along the lines of a 3.5 hp motor for the rear other than a 24v trolling motor for the simple fact is the weight savings is crazy. 2 12v group 27 batteries we ahve here at work are 60 lb each. 600 lb max rating on boat that already limits me down to 480 lb. down to 420 when i add the front battery for the front trolling motor. I do not plan on loading this to the max but heck the motor and fuel with an extra gallon of fuel is WAY lighter than 150 lbs it would be other wise on the trolling motor and 2 batteries for the back. I am just afraid that a 55lb thrust on the front and a 55lb thrust on the back wouldn't be enough to move the boat in current water.
  15. Yeah i dont figure it be to hard really to move them from boat to boat and ti wont happen real often. I was more curious about input on what one to choose lol.. I think i am cross eyed now trying to read about them..
  16. Think i may have narrowed the finders down to 3. I am looking to buy this with the ability to move it to a larger boat in the future and also be able to make it mobile so i can take it when my father in law and i go fish in his larger boat. Any input would be great or alternatives. I would love to have side and down scan along with gps, water temp and so on. Thank you guys a lot so far you ahve been a great help. 17. Thanks just read every page. Is ther anywhere i can go to read about all the different types of finder and what they mean?
  18. ok so i have been through every page in this. I am n need of a little help. I just purchased a bass raider 10 with a 3.5 hp motor and a trolling motor. I really want to put a fish finder on it. Well i really cant spend a 1000 on a finder but 4-5 maybe max at 600 i can probably swing. I really enjoy scuba diving as well. I think i would spend a lot of time with fish finder not even fishing lol.. Can any one help me choose a finder that can help me with all this.
  19. The screen shots above? That's what I was looking for like what wording and specs that I needed to look for and all that. Thank you
  20. So went to academy and looked at them and well I am a little overwhelmed. Sonar. Gps. Color. No color. Some other setting that shows lake floor lol. I'm so lost. People at academy are even more stupid than bass pro. So so I would love to see fish. Water depth. Water temp and logs and such. This would be nice if I could get that for under 400. The color ones all look really nice but I know seeing them n demo mode vs actually using them will be different. So based on all that. Any idea of a few to look at. Lol. Link below in case anyone wants to recommend one or 2 lol I don't really know anyone who I can personally ask about this I also looked at the deeper fonder for 299 but the boat mount is 100 alone and u have to use a android or iPhone http://www.academy.com/shop/browse/boating--marine/fishfinders--navigation/fishfinders?cm_cr=No+Campaign-_-Web+Activity-_-SubCategoryRecommendation+F%26S-_-SubCategory_CP1-_-Fishfinders-productNameLink
  21. What about brand and type. This would be my first ever fish finder and i am kinda lost when it comes to what i need it to have. I was at bass pro and i kinda told him what i was doing yet he only wanted to sell me one for like 900 and up..... WHAAAAAAA
  22. Anyway to get a flyer or the name of this store to contact them? So i found a company that does a 3.5 hp motor but it has no reverse. Specs say it is 360 rotation so i am thinking you can just spin the motor around for revers but going to call them in the morning. So i am trying to figure something out so input please. Should i go with a gas motor in the back and like a 50 lb trolling motor in the front on 12v and one battery or go with a 80LB thrust 24 system in rear and a 30 in the front. Only issue is i wold be needing 3 marine batteries at a weight at or around 180LB. This is a lot. The gas engine on weight 22 lbs without fuel. Id be at 488 the Minn Kota Traxxis 80 and 75 each on the deep cycle group 27 or 21 batteries. So price wise i would be right at 50 front troller with gas rear engine and battery - 825$ and weight about 102-115 lbs 80 lb troller rear and 2 batteris and 30 lb troller front with one bettery - 813$ and 200-225 weight. I weight about 200 lb and wife is about 135ish. The heaveast person i might take is about 250 lb. 600-250-200-225= (-75) to bad 600-250-200-115=35 to good I know i am close without any other gear and i have seen the boats hold a lot more than the 600 lb but i would like to stay close to the max without going over if i can. What are your thoughts
  23. I am trying to find a good fish finder for under 400. Would like to stay under 300 really. Any help. That and how are you guys mounting them?
  24. Has anyone been able to mount one of the flat type bow trolling motors. Looking to do like a 70 or 80 pound thrust instead of any type of gas motor. Then do a smaller 30 lb for the front when fishing. Thanks Here is a link for reference to the type of mount i am talking about Thanks http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/minn-kota-edge-70-freshwater-bow-mount-trolling-motor-201167607--1?repChildCatid=525903 Gas engines are rather expensive in this area even used.
  25. Anyone ever tried a larger thrust motor on the bass raider but in the bow mount type foot controlled? Like this http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/minn-kota-edge-70-freshwater-bow-mount-trolling-motor-201167607--1?repChildCatid=525903
