  1. well i actually changed baits in the same area about 5 minutes after i stopped using the chatter bait... how are u supposed to use the chatter bait maybe i was using it wrong
  2. A subscription to BASSMASTERS magazine was the best thing that I had ever done for myself. Each month you get a new marazine full of tips for fishing different types of bodies of water for each time of year.. I would say go with that. Also there are hard cover books that you can get from bassmaster with basic info and info on fishing many types of lures strictly for bass, this was very useful to me! Good luck
  3. i bought the chatter bait a while ago and i used it quite religiously for a while until i realized that i could catch more fish on a crankbait... But, I love the motion of the chatter bait so much. I was using it like a spinnerbait fishing it along the edge of lillies and docks... but nothing I only caught 3 fishing in a week. i was using a white and chartrouse chatterbait... the water was partly stained.. What am I doing wrong.. What should i do to fix my approach or color selection. Also what time of the year is this lure best to use?
  4. For all of my baitcastors 12 # Trilene has been the only line i have ever used and will ever use, i have never had a problem with it. It is strong and holds the best knot that ive have seen. I used to use only spinning reels and I used various lines such as stren and eagle claw, but trilene is by far the best I have used. GOOD LUCK!
  5. Becareful with something so cheap... especially if they are not a name brand such as rapala. I once bought a five pack with the same colots as you mentioned that also cost 2.50. I dont remember the name on the package i think it was matzuo or something. But anyway, the first time i tried them, i realized that they were all floating rattle traps that did not swim straight, so becareful, this is not good. A good rattle trap with sink and swim straight. Anyway to answer your question, all of those colors will work in stained water, but will best work on cloudy days, bring them through the water very fast, these lures are mainly used to catch bass that bite as a result of a reaction bite. I was in a tournament this summer, which was at a stained body of water, my lure of choice for the day was a red craw colored lipless crankbait made by rapala. In the 6 hour tournament i caught a total of 17 bass. My five biggest had a total weight of 19.4 lbs. My biggest was a 5.7 lb bass. It was a great day! it was the second tournament i had won with that same lure. Good luck fishing
