Maine Bass Fishing
I'm retired now, so my week is 6 Saturdays followed by a Sunday. We moved upta camp about 2 weeks ago for the summer, so its fish, eat, sleep, repeat. Well there's a couple of chores thrown in the mix, but I try to keep those to a minimum.

Kayak fish finder size
I have the lowrance hook 4 with chirp. And if I were to get another one, I'd definitely get SI. Sonar and DI basically just shows me what's under me in a under 20' of water. A bigger screen end wouldn't hurt either.

Boat registration numbers placement
In Maine you get the numbers yourselves.. I bought mine individually from Walmart. They only give you the registration sticker for the year. They have to be 3" reflective stickers. And place on both side of the bow. Maine inland fisheries webpage shows how they want it applied, I'd guess your state webpage would also.

What rod and reel do you use with the hudd 68 special. I see it's a 2 oz lure.

Maine Bass Fishing
I'm away at camp right now, but there's also some really good lakes in that area. Cobbosseecontee and Annabessacook lakes about 30 minutes east of Auburn are awesome

Maine Bass Fishing
Small lakes in southern aroostook county are still 1/2 ice, but opening fast. Large chunks of ice floating past the camp.

Maine Bass Fishing
It's already dropping. Though we're expecting rain tomorrow. Area flood warning goes thru mid week. My camp and the logging road i take there is high and dry, so a good pair of boots and I'm in my happy place

LOTS of small streams are now good sized lakes. This one is supposed to be the molunkus stream in Macwahoc Plantation

Maine Bass Fishing
Seven Tree in Union is almost completely open. The boat launch is open. Sennebec is part open, with very thin black ice n the rest. Southern part of Togus is open. Been out on all 3, not much luck. I'm up at camp now ( just north of Lincoln) and the Penobscot, Piscataquis and mattawamkeag rivers are holy crap high and running hard.

mother nature sucks!
Winter is when the bugs and other biting things die. Like snakes and alligators. It's one of the upsides

mother nature sucks!
Yeah, we've been talking about doing the snow bird thing. We have friends in SC and MS that would love to show us around.

mother nature sucks!
In a blatant disregard to her protection from abuse order, mother nature is ADDING ice to the lake upta camp.

Can't wait to get out.
No lake is much worse. At least with a frozen lake you can ice fish, or maybe take your car out for a "spin"

Maine Ice out reports/ prefer southern Maine lakes
Cobbossecontee and damariscotta lake are still completely frozen over. I drove around lakes in the Lewiston and Wayne area, they were also frozen, though the kennebec and androscogin rivers were ice free. I see the warden service has extended ice fishing season to April 16th, so it's noit looking optimistic.

Fish finder for old town predator 13
Is there one where the transducer fits into the round scupper hole marked for it? I see it's made for the hummingbird, but then see they sell a mounting kit for it. Same with the lowrance. Is there a transducer that's round and fit in the hole directly? The lowrance mount seems to let the transducer hang lower then the kayak, which means it would get scrapped against rock, etc. TIA, Dave
