Ok I know this will get a lot of different opinions and some even the same but I would love to hear this discussion about what do you consider to be the 12 most important set ups. For example 6/6 e glass cranking 7/0 e glass cranking 7mh spinner 7 M spinning rod for .... so if if you were starting out what would you get and for what technic to build you up to the full tournament fishing set up. Of course you could do just fine with 5 or even less but I would like to hear more about preparing for the tournament level

So I should do a mix if I'm trying to pick out 6 bait casters of all different gear ratios we would go with the hds smoke and just the smoke? Sorry for all the questions. I just wanted to figure out the best options since I'm buying them today and will have them for a long time for my main set ups

Lol thanks guys oppions aside. I'm just asking what do the pros do for there choices is it just the new hd 200 in different gear ratios or is do they use the tour mg also if so what makes it worth it?

I'm looking to buying 4 reels from quantum I'm looking at buying the quantum hd tour in multiple gear ratios and the smoke pt 6.2.1 would you suggest anything else from that company or is the hd tour what most pros use but just in different gear ratios? Ig what im asking are the pros using the hd tour reel with different ratios or are they using a mix of quantum brands for baitcasters.

I have a g loomis at home it's a 7-1 foot fast action rod. It doesn't say anything about med/mh/heavy what would you say this rod is best suited for?

I'm 5"11 and my rod is 7 foot I've only used it on the bank so of course that is probably a big part of it. I may be snapping it to hard because I watched a video of ish and he looks like he's Barely moving his wrist.

I have a 7 foot frog rod I'm having a very hard time walking it fast I have to wait a couple seconds to move it to get it to go side to side also have to swipe the rod to the left or right not straight down Im hoping it's just lack of experience since I just bought it

Wow that's a much better deal no I don't care about brand at all for any of this. I'm just looking for good enough product for tournaments. What would you start off with for sinkers as far as most used weight and cheapest brand? Can you also get deals on them if you buy them in bulk? I pretty much just used weight last year for Texas rig worms. Hello I recently bought a boat last year that came with a pair front and back of Hummingbird 788ci sonar gps Ive taken the boat out 6 times and just can't figure out how to read them. It always appears like nothing shows up at all. Maybe long lines which I'm assuming is grass but I can't see big drop offs or trees etc. This could be very likely be that I just don't know how to read them at all. So I guess what I'm asking is what can I buy to help or what can I do to learn. I've YouTube the subject etc and that came up short

Putting brands aside what are your must have 3 what would be your building blocks? Right now I have 2 Abu veritias MH 6 "9" 1 6.4:1 1 7.1:1 7-foot, heavy action model with a little bit of tip. (A little bit of tip means a soft or fast tip.) 6-foot, 9-inch medium heavy model with a little more tip action. 7-foot, medium action spinning model with an 80/20 backbone to tip ratio. Is what I was looking about getting so all I would need is one 7 foot heavy and one spinning set up. Is this enough will the 6 foot 9 be good to crank 10 plus feet? If so why are there cranking rods?

Yeah I was thinking of purchasing a xpress 19 with a 150 motor and hoping that I would be covered for most tournaments. Would there be any that you know of that would require more?

I'm buying a boat soon and was just wondering how many tournaments require a 150 motor? Would I be missing out on a lot of tournaments? I also don't want to purchase a 115 and then not be able to upgrade when time goes on and bigger tournaments appear. If there's any suggestions about the best way to get into serious tournament fishing I would be great full. I already emailed the bass club around here waiting for a reply. Thank you

So I went to bps yesterday and looked at the pro team 195tx (they didn't have the 190 there) it runs at around 25000. Now that's just because the motor I'm assuming it's a 150 and its 8 inches wider. I think I'm still leaning towards the 190. Since 5000 buys some good add ons. So for tournament fishing will that motor make that big of a difference? Would you rather spend the 5000 more to just get the better engine/wider boat?

Whatever you suggest I'm probably going to extremely lean to, since of your knowledge and willingness to help. so here the deal. I'm looking to start around spending that much money but have no problem dropping extra 3 thousand or so if it's gonna make a difference ( which is why I was looking at the nitro z-6) I'm assuming if you order a boat it is a little pricey to have it shipped which I don't mind if it's the better option. Thank you I live in indianola Iowa. I was looking at the ranger rt188 Iabass8 suggested and would that be a better purchase than the z-6 nitro? You're Lowe boat looks great. Idk if I've seen them here in IA. For more info I would be traveling wherever needed but mainly to close by states at first so..I'm assuming it would just be big lakes.
