  1. Not a big fan here. Got a 6'6" medium spinning Bionic Blade and don't like it much. Does not seem too sensitive, the butt is too long for my comfort and for the type of fishing I do with a spinning outfit. The "Hump" handle just doesn't fit me. Emphasis on ME. I was ready to be impressed and it leaves me cold. With that said if you buy it as a combo with a good Shimano reel it will get you by for a fair price. You may like yours and the $$ risk is minimal. 2. The YUM Wooly Curltail have been a remarkable bait for me. Many a trip have been saved by these easy to fish baits. They are offered in 3" & 4" size. I don't know what your definiton of finesse fishing is but for me these are not a finesse bait. Versatile as all get out but not finesse. I T-Rig them and retrieve them steady or slow bouncing them along the bottom. The beauty of these is if you take kids or inexperienced people fishing you can rig them up and just have them cast. A truly weedless combo that gives them a real chance at catching whatever swims. Hookets are a breeze if you use sharp hooks. My 8 year-old caught a nice LMB using a YUM while I was throwing every other expensive bait I own. She just threw it out and reeled in. It bit and she just continued reeling. No defined hookset just a fish! 1 of the things that I thinks sets it apart is the ribbed body. Fish can bite it and compress the ribs and it seems to make them hold on. I'm sure there are other brands that work just as well. My guess is that a 5" would be too big for normal sized crappie. CF
  3. Thanks to everyone for the responses. Randall, Are you fishing the jig heads faster so they are off the bottom further or just bigger hops? If the fish are suspended are they feeding actively or not feeding? I take it that if they won't go down to get a T-rig they're not active. CF
  4. Greetings. A quandry for me to figure out for next year. How do Jig-worm presentations and T-Rigs differ? Both worms are front weighted and if you peg the weight the T-rig acts as 1 piece. Why 1 over the other if the weights are the same? Under what conditions is one superior over the other? I'm trying to figure out why a jig-worm is the rage (July In-Fisherman) while a T-Rig with weight is ho-hum. CF
