You would love Florida bassin. The gators can get annoying but They usually leave you be unless you take too long to bring in a fish. lol

FRUSTRATED!!
This is advice that came from the people on this forum. You need to remember its hot and we are bank fishermen. This is the hardest time of the year for us and it can get a bit hopeless at times. I take 3 poles with me when I go and they all have a soft plastic on them. I use one for a Texas rig Sinko, one for a Texas rig worm and one for a weightless fluke. I just asked around on here what people used the most in summer and those 3 are always mentioned. Ever since I started doing this i have not had one skunk day at all. I might only catch 1 or 2 on a slow day but I am fishing a pressured pond in the middle of summer so I can live with those numbers. Use as little weight as possible and WORK IT SLOW! let that worm sit for 10 seconds and give it a little pop or drag it really slow. Also, Every fish I caught from the bank was caught while I was standing more then 10 feet from the water. Fish spend most of the time looking up for forage so they will see you before you see them. Remember this is a Apex predator that has been perfected over 3.5 million years. They are good at what they do and are intune with their senses like you cannot imagine.

Big bass smashes Frog.
I know man. I have seen great videos from the everglades. I watched a guy fishing a canal that was drying up and pull in a bass every cast. I will be getting a kayak and going soon.

Big bass smashes Frog.
This is just nuts. A guy in the Florida everglades makes his own frogs and uses a kayak. I trimmed the video because it did have him promoting his lures for sell and I did not want to get in trouble. I would give anything to have this happen to me. He does not land the fish but that blow up is the stuff dreams are made of. http://www.tubechop.com/watch/8199980

Question about summertime bass.
What kind of work hook do you use for the Sinko? I have the straight worm hooks and the wide gap ones. Well the problem is i just pull up a clump of grass every time. The entire jig covered in grass. What would you use in the dark? Never fished for bass at night. I thought they became lethargic at after dark? I will be leaving here at 5:00am I will let you guys know tomorrow how it goes. The sinko sounds like a good idea. How slow are you working that Texas rig? dead slow?

Small pond bass on "baby bass" fluke
Using ZOOM "baby bass" flukes with a 5/0 eaglesharp worm hook. Hit the water at 5:30 and stayed until 7:00. Only one bass but this place Is really pressured. Its only a block from my place and I have been going every morning. Any fish is better then a skunk and each one gets a kiss. upload pic

This Time I Wasn't at Fault, I Swear...
Very awesome for doing that when you didn't have too. The young man could be out running the streets or setting inside on video games all day. That fact that he was out fishing shows he has a head on his shoulders. Again, you are awesome for that.

Which Line For Which Rod?
I have 30lb power pro on my 7'0 mh baitcaster. I use this for frogs, jigging and other heavy lures. With jigging and frogging you need strong line for hook sets and getting through heavy cover. I have never tried punching but I know it also needs heavy line. I use no leader. On my 7'0 mh spinning rig I have 12lb trilene xl. I like this line and its cheap too. I use this rod for weighted plastics, some lures and Texas rig stuff. I also use it for jerk baits and other lures that need that stiff tip. On my 6'6 mh spinning rig I use 10lb trilene xl. I use this rig for weightless soft plastics mostly. I have a roll of fluorocarbon that I will be trying when I need to reline. I am new to bass fishing so I'm sure someone has better advice then me. Just telling you what I have found to be a good set up for the fishing I do.

Question about summertime bass.
Edges are all hydrilla out to about 6 feet. Someone else told me to rig a fluke and let it sink into the holes so I will be trying that and a jig. I want to try a shaky head but we have no tackle store in Crestview and the only walmart has no jig heads with screws or the "spot remover style". I need to order some spot removers or go across the Alabama line and get some from that Walmart.

Question about summertime bass.
Thanks. I just got a new jig so Tomorrow I will see if I can make anything happen.

Question about summertime bass.
I wish. Be easier to catch them. I Have been plugging the hydrilla all day and not one bite.

Question about summertime bass.
When I hit my local pond I usually get to the spot about 5:30AM. This gives me 15 minutes to get ready and check things out. At sunrise the bite turns on and the bass start to really feed along the shoreline until about 7:30-8:00. the bite then turns off until about 6:00 in the evening. This lake has thick hydrilla all around the edges that goes out about 6 feet. I just want to know what happens to those bass after the bite stops and it starts to warm up? fishing the hydrilla has proven unsuccessful so far. Should I be casting to the middle of the pond and fishing bottom?

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I just got a pack of those YUM sinkos to try out. How are they compared to YAMASINKOS? BOOYAH BOO JIG. My first proper jig That I am going to fish tomorrow morning and a few packs of hooks. The wife had me run out to get milk and cooking oil and I kinda just wondered over to the fishing stuff. screenshot windows

BOOYAH boo jig.
Anyone ever use one of these jigs before? I got it from Walmart marked down from 8.00 bucks to 2.34. It has 2 little rattles on and seems to be good quality. I have never used a jig and the only one I got is a cheapo that my dad gave me. I will be using it for the first time tomorrow morning to fish some thick hydrilla. Also Is it better to have a trailer or should I fish it the way it is? imgurl

Can I use these for bass?
Haha. I was just concerned about the size of some of them. Thanks for the input and these will now go into the arsenal.

Can I use these for bass?
I am new to bass fishing and so my bass lure collection is small at the moment. I have a few crank baits, and a few jigs. I have tons of ZOOM worms because I always sneak over to the fishing section at wally world and sneak a bag or 2 into the cart when the wife is not looking. But I have a lot of saltwater inshore stuff for snook and reds. I just want to know if I can use these for bass and if it is even worth it. The large green lure is a BOMBER and I have caught lots of snook on it but it is huge! I also have the 2 ZARA spooks. Those 3 in the top right are YOZURIS and they cost 15.00 bucks a pop but they are amazing for Snook. It would be great if I could use some of this stuff in freshwater. If anyone has done this and has had success it would be great to hear about. They just sit in my shed so if I can use them then that would really expand my arsenal. Thanks. photo upload sites image hosting 30 mb

Twerling Flukes and a missed oppertunity.
Choporoz is the man! Like I said its amazing how only a few tips can turn a skunk day into a productive day. It really shows you how a bass can see the action of a lure and tell that something is not right with it. I use to watch a guy on ESPN called bass professor. He would talk about how a bass can tell if the lure is not acting right and not commit to the strike. Also thanks everyone for the input. This is why I love being apart of this community. I have fished this place the last few weeks and not one bite. Now I have something that works. I will tell you that watching the bass feed is a cool site. they push the bait fish up close to shore and when they go in for the kill the water looks like it is boiling! A very cool site and a example of a perfect predator.
