  1. Obviously. would any kind of dead stick catch fish though? ..
  2. Been going to a small creek lately. There's more cover at the end of the creek due to fallen tree's that they decided not to remove & the water's way calmer there. At the top part of the creek, water isn't so calm, but there's still cover. The bluegills love to hang out at the top part, but I haven't caught any bass there. Mainly some cats & whatnot. I tried the middle of the creek with no luck.. This is Lynn Creek in TX, btw. Seems like no one caught much fish except this one guy sitting near the top of the creek. Was it just a bad fishing day, or are the bass simply not there?
  3. So just set 3 or 4 rods & go read a book? Would a 5-inch senko's work well?
  4. legal? doubt it. Probably has an excuse, like those are my kid's rods or something of that sort.. & its in texas btw, so it actually might be legal .-.
  5. What kind of bait would ya use? Would a senko do the trick? Plan on leaving em there & reeling in every 30 minutes or so..
  6. Simple question : Wacky or Texas, & why? Do rigging it wacky w/out the o-ring decrease bites, or does it just tear it up quicker.
  7. Nothing against them at all. No offense to you in anyway ?. Just nowhere as fun to fish as bass. And to me, nowhere as tasty as bass ?. Maybe a bit better than some cats though. I'd love to give you some of my bluegill ? Went again this morning to get rid of my left over night crawlers & come home with 15 bluegills using only 6 nightcrawlers that were cut in 1/2 ?
  8. I've gone bass fishing, & I always have to see that one fisherman, casting about 3 or 4 rods & leaving it in a rod holder checking it every once in a while. Yesterday, I heard a story about this dude catching about 12 bass in 1 hour using the rod holders. Just curious what type of bait you would throw down & the bass would still bite even though it's not moving? Even on my best days, & using a bait that's been biting like crazy, i usually have to at least give it a couple short tugs or drags, for me to get a bite. Interesting how bass think .. ?
  9. I got a couple packs of senko's today. I got the watermelon with red flakes. Might try them out tomorrow. By the way, I've read that weightless Texas rigging is the way to go. Have you had any luck drop-shotting of split-shotting? Not a big fan of wacky, but I'll give it a try tomorrow while I'm testing these senko's out. ? Forgot to get the gamakatsu hooks, but I'll just try out the my snelled ones, & hope for the best I suppose .. ?
  10. What kind of live bait are you implying here? I typically hook my worms all the way through the hook, doubt they could move. ? I guess that's my mistake.
  11. Catch anything with the sunfish you throw back out? Ever tried throwing bluegill out? Nice, night crawlers keep getting me small fish though! ? Want to try crawfish or something of that sort.. "Challenge" do you find it easier using live bait?
  12. Kevin Zheng posted a topic in Fishing Tackle
What type of rods you prefer? Do you like the simple spin casters? Or would you rather use a spinning rod? What about battling backlash in exchange for accuracy with the bait caster rod? & more importantly, why?
  13. I'm using spin cast & baitcaster, Thanks for the advice !
  14. great ! Thanks for the reply Hmm I see. thanks for the reply. I've caught bass on worms, but not as often as I always reel in bluegill. by the way what size hook do you recommend?
  15. I know some people think that using live bait is "cheating". Opinions on this? What are advantages of live? Of artificial? Which ones do you use & why? Which one do you think catches more fish?
