I was just curious if anyone has any advice on fishing Pickwick in the winter? i've had great trips in the spring and fall but cannot for the life of me figure it out in the winter. I've had good trips fishing out on the main lake when there's a lot of current but otherwise it seems to fish really tough, but i see plenty of big sacks caught so it's pretty frustrating haha.

I plan on getting a Ultrex whenever this one goes out.

So I don't know if anyone else has this problem but my Motorguide x5 arrow keeps getting misaligned. I adjusted it back into place about 4 times on a recent trip and it still eventually becomes misaligned again.

I was looking to get a baitcasting rod for weightless/light flippin and pitchin. I'm stuck on whether to go 7' Medium or 7'1 Med-Hvy. My choice of line would be 15lb Fluorocarbon if that matters. I was looking to get a new spinning reel in the $100 range. I'm a Daiwa guy and saw they offered two reels in that range but i'm not sure which one to get. I know the Fuego LT is newer and has a higher gear ratio but that's about it. Any input from someone who has owned either reel would be appreciated.

I fish Pickwick a lot but have no clue who the good guides are. With father's day coming up I wanted to book a trip for my father.

Guess it's just an area thing. $150-$200 will get you a great skin mount here. I just personally wanted to go replica because they don't deteriorate.

Have you received your mount yet? I'm looking at getting a replica as well. I'd love to see pictures.

All the skin mounts i've seen eventually get faded and dried out. Those look stunning but unfortunately way out of my price range.

I'm looking to get a replica of my PB largemouth. It would most likely need to be a place that ships as I live in North Mississippi right outside of Memphis, TN. My budget price is $300-$400. I know nothing about replica taxidermy though so I don't know if that's a realistic number or not.

I'm looking for a new crankbait rod that's between 7'10" to 8' in length. Something I would throw 6XD's mostly on, maybe an 8XD. Only rod I found in that category was the Powell Endurance rods but never had a Powell rod so unsure if they're good or not.

I caught a 9.5lb bass two years ago and want to get a replica done, the problem is I never got a length and girth.

I contacted Rage Tail on facebook but heard nothing back so far.

I don't know if it's just me but this is the fourth pack of Magnum Rage Bug i've bought in a row that at least half the pack the colors have been extremely off. I love the Rage Bug but it's frustrating when your baits end up looking like chartreuse pepper rather than summer craw.

I've used PP Spectra for awhile but i'm always looking to improve on things so I was looking for suggestions on some other brands to try, the color seems to fade pretty fast from the Power Pro.

After all the recommendations i'll definitely put the Fury into consideration, i wish retailers around here carried it so I could test it myself but as far as i'm aware they don't .

I know someone who has a Bucoo, it's a bit stiff for my liking. Is the Dobyns that stiff ? I'm pretty short so nothing beyond 7'3

I'm looking to get another pitchin rod so i'll have one rod for jigs and one for texas rigged plastics. I fish braid 100% of the time, so i want a heavy power rod but one with a soft tip. My budget is around $100-$120. Anybody got any recommendations?

Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas. Probably Alabama (Guntersville) next year. Would also like to get down to Texas and Florida one of these days.

We thought that was a possibility but the only other person who has permission to fish it releases everything. He hasn't seen anything nor have the people who rent from my relatives.
