Fishing on the peace river
I went this past weekend camping on the peace river. The water was really cold but I thought I would give it a try. Fished the river before on previous trips that are usually in November so going in December was a first. knowing the water was going to be really cold and mostly shallow in most parts of the river we were at I setup my Rod to start throwing soft plastics into cover and deep water. I rigged up a swimbait in the color called baby bass. After walking the bank and finding a nice bass hiding in cover I threw in the swim bait but the bass kept getting spooked. seeing what was going on I decided to throw a super fluke . it was a pearl white / chartues tail rigged on a 3/0 wide gap eagle hook with a 1/8th bullet weight on 30 # leader and 30# braid. First cast I made towards the pocket and hooked the bass and what a fight. Ended up catching my personal best of 3lbs. Fished the next day with the same setup but with a different color fluke called baby bass. Fished the banks and fallen trees and caught a couple of dinks nothing big but it was nice to have a weekend on the river we're I caught more then 1 small bass. I really recommend anyone fishing on peace river in this time of year to fish it slow and look for the fallen trees and deep pockets.

Abu Garcia Orra S Vs Penn Fierce
I've had a abu garcia orra 2s30 for sometime now and love it. 99% of my fishing is freshwater, but earlier this year i camped out at flamingo in the everglades on a beach and caught several different species. Went home rinsed it off, and it still runs smooth as heck. been a abu fan for a year now but this reel made me a fan for life. No complaints whats so ever.

Where to fish for peacock bass in the miami area?
Tamiami airport lakes, or one of those canals that runs to/from it. i learned by simply going out there with my gear and looking for them. I rarely fish with live bait and all my spots that i have found is by simply going with my gear and simply and fishing for them. Google maps is a good tool to help find new spots. I can say i have a consistent spot for peacock, another for largemouth, another for gar and one for bowfin and it all came from getting out there and fishing those openings. The hammocks lake in kendall are supposede to be good other then that, thight lines man.

Advice on fishing at Peace river Florida
Hey guys, in December i'm going camping at Peace river for 3 days with 2 of my best friends as a going away trip. Ive been camping there at least 1-2 times a year for the past 7 years mostly in November or march and I've only managed to catch 1 small large mouth. Anyone have any advice they are willing to share. The water temp here in Miami during the winter differs from peace river quit a bit.

You might be addicted to bass fishing if...
When your driving down the road while your girlfriend is talking to you and you see a lake/river/pond/canal and block her out and start thinking if theirs fish in it and what lure would they bite.

Fl Guys - How Do You Avoid Being Gators Lunch?
lived in Florida my whole life and been fishing and camping at peace river at least twice a year for the past 5 years. I've swam in the river, bathed and conoeing in the river and never had a problem with the gators. Also been camping at Flamingo state parks and didnt have an issue either. Leave them alone and they wont bother you.

night fishing!
From my experience nothing really changes. i prefer to fish with a full moon cause it gives me more visibility. As were to fish i just head to the same spots i hit during the day. Don't know how many bass i've caught using the zoom utail worm in the junebug color on a trokar 3/0 worm hook and 1/16-1/8 bullet weight.

First time bass fishing at Sawgrass recreational park in the Everglades
How's it going everyone? This past Saturday me and my two friends went fishing at saw-grass recreation park in the Everglades. It was a very sunny, hot day with few clouds. The water was 1-2 inches low. We rented a Jon boat from the park which wasn't bad but a bit under powered. So after a 45 minute boat ride to our first stop, after one of the park employes suggest we hit, my friend caught a nice little large mouth with a shiner, while me and my other friend were fishing with artificial bait. I was using a white Zoom horny toad with a 3/0 Eagle Claw swim bait hook and had a bowfin bite but spit the frog out as i attempted to set the hook. So after 15 minutes of no bites, we went off to the second recommended spot. my and my friend were using lures but weren't having any success. So after 10 minutes of not getting a bite my friends convinced me to start using shiners. After i did i caught a few chichlids. I switched back to the frog in attempt to catch my first bass on a frog. immediately doing so i had a gar start teasing my frog but would never bite. Until my friend threw in a shiner and caught him. We ended up making heading to our third spot and for some odd reason something told me to cast in to a bed of lily pads, and as soon as my frog hit the water a bass exploded on it. All this is happening at we are going about 4 mph, what an excitement. We went on towards the end of the canal were my friend caught a nice bluegill on a shiner. At that time it was already 2 o'clock and the sun was burning like crazy so we decided to split and hit some lakes in broward where had better luck. Overall it was a pretty good experience. Has anyone else had better success out there? If so what di you guys do different. Thanks for reading and tight lines.
