Clearwater Peacock Bass Lures
This is exactly what I was thinking of doing just now, getting one of those common shiner swimbaits.

Fishing in the rain (South Florida)
Very late reply but if it's rained the day before the spillways are flowing, imo one of the best ways to catch fish is fishing a spillway.

Local Miami Florida bass fishing spots
The absolute best fish are in residential/gated communities in my opinion, but obviously if you can't get access to some of those there are fish to be caught in every canal. In Miami I recommend Amelia Earhart. Went there once and while crossing over some bridge in the park I saw the biggest largemouth of my life just cruising underneath the bridge, my estimate is 8+ pounds. Caught a few small fish there easily but if you really put forth effort you could probably coax out a pig. Only fishing for an hour or so as I live in Ft. Lauderdale and it's a quite a drive away but that's the best public place I can think of right now.

Clearwater Peacock Bass Lures
Have a spot in Ft. Lauderdale which constantly produces 5 to even 6lb giant peacocks, although they are all caught on live shiners and smaller bluegill if we can get them. The issue here is I want to start fishing artificial more often as my nearest bait shop is around 20 minutes north from the spot and I live right next to the spot as well, making a 40 minute round trip essentially. I would also like to say that I've gotten the cops called on me once for fishing there (residential lake) but have not been in trouble recently, and if I need to move quick the heavy livewell bucket we use doesn't help. Issue is these fish are pressured and smart, and there is no fooling them with staple peacock lures with bright colors as the water is CRYSTAL clear. Any suggestions?

SE Florida Bass & Snakehead Fishing
Anyone have any areas you can recommend to me for snakeheads or largemouth? I've heard there's snakeheads in Parkland and Tamarac. The only place I have caught one before is a spillway which hasn't been productive for me the last couple of trips there. Completely landbased aswell. Also, any big bass areas to visit? Every place I've caught a decent (4lbs and up) largemouth or peacock has been in some community lake that I can get in trouble for trespassing in.

Lake Lure NC
Anyone fish Lake Lure before? It’s in west North Carolina, and I am going to be in a house on the lake for all of spring break with the family. I would love to catch largemouth obviously but a smallmouth would be the true target. Any tips? Unfortunately restricted to bank fishing, so try to keep that in mind.

Tongue hooked a fish, TONS of blood
For the first time in my life I tongue hooked a largemouth while using a hair jig and I have never had a fish bleed so much. Hook came out like there was no issue and I released it as quick as I could, swam off quickly. I just have no idea why a fish would bleed so much after being hooked in the tongue.

Is 50lb braid too heavy for Small Shiner fishing?
lol I know its universal for baitcasters but will it weigh the shiner down

Is 50lb braid too heavy for Small Shiner fishing?
Never shiner fished before and the only setup I have is my baitcaster with 50lb braid or my spinning with 10lb mono. I don't know if 10lb mono is enough for the fish we are targeting (6+ lb peacocks). If not, is 50lb braid sufficient? This fishing trip was a surprise and I don't have any of my other gear on me

Can I tie 50lb braid mainline to 10lb mono leader?
Googan here and I want to know if 50lb braid is "too strong" for only a 10lb mono leader

Amelia-Earhart Park?
Went to Amelia Earhart today and only landed one largemouth, about 2 lbs. Fished only the eastern lake because of the RC boats and wakeboarders. Caught him on a Booyah Hard Knocker (lipless crank) in an area with little cover to be seen or felt with the knocks from the crank. Tried rubber toads near some lily pads with no success. Also managed to pull up some guy's cut line, he had a white super fluke tied on which gave me an idea to use next time. Any tips for this park?

Can you put a handle with 2 grips on a spinning reel?
The reviews say it isn't really a good reel, is there any way I could attach a double paddle to a spinning reel
