  1. Combo that ive had my eye on for a little while now is an Aldebaran paired with a kistler helium 3 md/lt. That rod though is in the $250-$300 range though
  2. All my rods are graphite so I cant answer the question. I do however want to get a glass rod to try out and see how I like it
  3. gotta let us how the new chronarchs are. I picked up the ci4 model when it was on sale during the Christmas sale and of course they beauts come out
  4. That he does. Maybe he`ll start leaving me alone since I pretty much have most areas covered now. Besides a good spinning rod and a flipping rod. But then again he`ll probably decide to start upgrading the lower end stuff for higher end
  5. Ill look into that thanks. That rod monkey you speak of will probably cause me to but both the 735c and the 765flip as it never allows me to only buy one rod at a time. But ive also never purchased a high end rod. My most expensive rod is a powell inferno and like my other rods the rod monkey causes me to atleast buy two rods when ever I decided to try a new company. For example I have two shimanos, two abu garcias, and two powells. And will probably end up getting two dobyns.
  6. Wish I would've seen this bet sooner lol. Richard got back to me today and you are wrong sir. He recommended the champion 735c
  7. Well dam looks like I'm beat there
  8. And he`ll talk to anybody?
  9. Still don't know who Richard is lol? Somebody from tacklewarehouse?
  10. I was looking at the champion and the fury series. As stated punching will be very few and far. Will be used more for like flippin and Carolina rigs
  11. Thanks. I'm trying to venture out and tend to buy two different rod sizes from a company each time I buy a new rod to see how I feel about that particular company. But since I'm looking for a multi purpose flipping pitching punching rod figured I would go with dobyns as ive wanted to try out their product. Who is Richard?
  12. looking to get a flippin pitchin rod that can do some punching as that's not a technique I have the option to do a lot. And also be able to handle a few other techniques like Carolina rigging. I mainly fish from the bank but once in a while do go out on a boat. I have a powell inferno 7`2 frog rod and wasn't sure if that would really handle what I'm looking to do to well. Also not looking to go to big 7`6 being the biggest I'm willing to go. My question is, is the 735c or 765 flip the right options? How many people here have experience with either rod and what is your opinion on it
  13. little mantua creek you say? Take it your in the mantua west deptford area?
  14. ive been looking at a few of the models they have. Just haven't commited on a purchase yet
  15. very nice to know that I'm not the only person that doesn't seem to walk of the store or leave a website under $100 bucks. Never fails. Always starts off as let me just get a few things that I need. Full cart later
  16. Kudos to those who take a kayak out in them waters. That's one thing I probably wouldn't do. That's my luck I'd get knocked off by one. To each their own though I'll check that link out once I get home to the pc. For me the price difference for something with pedal propulsion will take some thought as that's a nice penny to spend for a kayak.
  17. Think of it as torque and acceleration. The slower ratio has the torque where the higher ratio has the accerlation. In other words the more torque you have the easier it'll be. So that torque will make it easier to keep that deep diver in the desired depth longer and slower where that high ratio will burn right through. all comes down to the what technique your using. Everything has its purpose. Easiest way I can think of on how to explain it
  18. I really like the idea of the pedal propulsion but my thing is if I want to stand in the kayak and fish how much space will I lose with the pedal assembly right there? And some of the creeks I want to fish with it have some very shallow sections to navigate through
  19. That's the one thing that does suck about both models is they do have some weight to them from the specs ive seen. And being both models have some nice length to them I already considered maneuverability to be on the crappy side. But I like the width they have to offer so I imagine the stability is amazing. I will keep that in mind flyfisher as I will be doing a lot of homework on both models. Tired of bank fishing and a boat isn't an option right now
  20. Ive been wanting to get my hands on a fishing kayak for a while now and have came down to one of two kayaks. An atak 140 and a big rig. Anybody have any experience with these two models? If so how do you like them? If you had a choice which one would you pick and why? I would like a kayak with the propulsion setup but the cost is more then I want to spend as I plan on doing a few things to the kayak as soon as I get it. Thanks again
  21. agreed on the boomerang cutters. They work really well and I use them on all kinds of line. Braid, mono, and fluoro and haven't had any issues with them so far
  22. ive never used 832 but I went to pp from spiderwire and pp hasn't let me done. I use 30lb and 50lb and about to pick up some 65lb. Thinking about trying the max quarto but was also thinking about trying the 832
  23. I use to use spider wire but once I tried power pro i was hooked. Havent tried anything else braid wise. As far as a leader goes for me it depends on water dept and the length of my rod
  24. I'm up to 8 setups now and continuing to increase my arsenal
  25. I went to power pro from spider wire a few years ago and haven't looked back. Really like the power pro a lot. Just ordered the max quarto to try out once it warms back up. I do want to try some of the seagur braid but I don't have any complaints about the power pro
