  1. Anyone know where i can get a power handle for a Chronarch CI4+ ?
  2. So my question is what if I have a 6'6" Medium Fast rod and a 7'1 Medium Fast rod (same type and same manufacturer), other than gaining some distance for casting, what is difference in performance?
  3. Looking to pick the 803C JWR and wanted to know if anyone has used it for 3/4-1oz jigs. I have the 802C but wanted something a little heavier for jigging for Flounder and Stripers. Most of the time I would be using 1/2-3/4. Unfortunately no shops have one in stock to handle and I think the 804C may be a bit heavier than I would like.
  4. Excellent thanks for the confirmation.
  5. How many of you guys bring duplicate rods with you? Meaning same length, power and action? I don't need anything heavier than a medium power and I use a 6'8" medium extra fast JWR for everything. I want a second one so I can have a different bait ready instead of re-tying. I have a MH if I really need it but rarely use it. Seems like a no brainer to just get another JWR but I feel like I should get something different. Does it make sense to get a duplicate ?
  6. Ok thanks..Ill have to check out the guides a bit more
  7. If you could get the NRX for the same price as the GLX would you still go with the GLX ? Reason I'm asking is I just got a new 802c GLX JWR and want to get a second one. I could get a demo 802 NRX JWR locally for basically the same price. After I used the GLX all my other rods feel like crap lol.
  8. I know how you feel..just got a new GLX 802C JWR and now all my other rods feel like broomsticks. I will be getting another one or a NRX now..
  9. I'm not sure how else to explain it. Loop knots give he bait more movement. I tried one of my fly tying knots and it works fine with braid so I'm going to give it a try.
  10. I have been looking at trying the E6X 803C JWR but have been reading mixed reviews. Unfortunately I can't get a hold of one so I would be ordering blind. I have a few of the Avid X's for comparison. I also have 3 of the original IMX's I bought over 15 years that Im still using.
  11. Depending on what you are doing I think it gives the bait more action. Jigging, weightless worms, flukes etc.
  12. Im no expert on cranks either..I rarely fish them. My un-educated guess is that it probably doesn't make a difference if you are just casting and retrieving in straight. I mostly fish soft plastics so I use a loop knot 99% of the time. I just wanted to experiment on tying direct with braid instead of using a leader.
  13. Thanks..The Rapala is the only one I found too. I normally use a Canoeman knot but it doesn't work well with braid.
  14. Anyone know a good loop knot that works with braid?
  15. Thats what I've been doing..works ok on my boat but not as good on the kayak
  16. Nice. I think Im going to give it a go. Im going to keep the scented stuff like Keitech,Missle etc in the waterproof box and the rest in some 3601 boxes and see what happens.
  17. Yea thats what I was thinking too. Keeping the flukes straight in the pack is a pain. And my Roboworms don't even come in a sealed bag anyway. My friend started keeping his Keitechs in one and they are as fresh as the day he got them.
  18. Wondering if anyone is using the Plano Waterproof boxes to store soft plastics. Seems like they would keep the scent sealed in and preserve better than the regular boxes. I like the idea of keeping everything organized in the clear boxes. Plus it would keep everything from getting bent up.
  19. I have some 4/0..Ill give them a try
  20. Thanks for all the advice. I tried one with a 3/0 1/16 hook and it swam perfect. I'm going to pick up some 2/0 nd 1/0 as well.
  21. Thanks everyone..Thought I was doing something wrong. Ill try both a 2/0 weighted ewg and a jig head. Jig head will be tough since it's very weedy.
  22. So I tried one of these yesterday on 1/0 and 2/0 EWG... weightless texas rigged. On the retrieve every so often the Jr would rotate 360 degrees. I checked the hook and it was centered on the bait. Any idea why its rotating like that?
