  1. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Savage_Gear_Ned_Craw_4pk/descpage-SGNC.html I got these 2.5” Ned craws from savage gear. I have previously used the TRD Crawz, these are an even more lifelike imitation with hyper realistic detail. I know the general consensus around hyper realism is that it is no more effective, possibly even counter productive but they were on sale so I figured I’d give them a try. What are some alternate ways besides Ned to rig these, possibly to play into the realism? I considered a swing head or finesse bulletz to give it more range of motion, something to make it go up and down rather than just standing straight up.
  2. Yeah I have, and only experience it with the crank so that’s good news. Gonna switch back to my Curado for my cranking setup.
  3. I always hear people hype this year after year, but my best fishing has always been in September this time of year. After October I find them harder and harder to locate, with far fewer fish and the occasional big bite. Perhaps I’m not fishing this transitional period properly and focusing on summer patterns when I should be targeting their wintering areas? A lot of people hold the belief that within a week of the autumnal equinox they begin making their way to where they will spend the winter.
  4. You think I’ve potentially already damaged my Stradic? Only been throwing cranks on it a few trips.
  5. Since I don’t have a dedicated cranking setup I started throwing the KVD 1.5 on my 7’1” MF Legend Tournament versatile spinning setup with a Stradic 2500. This seems to do the job although I notice a sort of grinding friction and mild sound when reeling it in, I’m assuming this is because of the resistance given by a diving crank. Is this anything to be concerned about? I really love this reel and don’t want to damage it. Also, is there anything about this setup that isn’t ideal for cranking, or any added benefit to getting a casting crank bait reel?
  6. It makes sense that a dying baitfish imitation would invite an aggressive bite, that’s awesome man.
  7. What makes the owners better? So even if using weightless, still keeps plastic straighter? Also, is 4/0 not a tad large? My buddy was saying 2/0 was as big as you’d want to go for those Gammy EWG on the super fluke, but are the standards different for EWG vs straight shank?
  8. Also, is there anything particularly better about the owner vs these? I ask because I already have them and wonder if they’ll be adequate. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gamakatsu_Offset_EWG_Worm_Hooks_Black/descpage-GOSWG.html
  9. So in situations where a fluke is most effective, this will completely serve this function?
  10. Great thx! What about a medium sized river averaging 4-6’? Also is this an exact replacement for a fluke? Says it’s a “topwater” soft jerk.
  11. Nice. Which caffeine Shad do you use? Looks like there are a couple diff options on TW, one says swimmin. None are fork tailed, isn’t that what a fluke is supposed to have?
  12. Do you prefer an EWG worm hook or regular, and what size/brand? What color do you like best? Lastly, do you go weightless or do you add some?
