  1. This drives me nuts, the vast majority of people I see posting in Facebook groups either have no clue how bad that is for the fish or simply don’t care.
  2. What about river smallies, if I’m gonna stick to mono for now because it floats is heavier than 12 still necessary and is 14 adequate?
  3. A bit concerned with braid rippin lips Is 12 not heavy enough? Isn’t fluro significantly easier to tear through than braid? You find braid to be better for casting distance or simply strength with big baits/big fish?
  4. See I tried the finesse Shroomz and I always get frustrated with the constant snags and go back.
  5. Really? I thought it rotates and that’s what spins the propeller? Wonder why guy @ Field and Stream insisted I needed barrel swivels.
  6. Yeah they will take a beating. Until a 10 lb channel smacks it, that’ll put a kink in it lol.
  7. I’ve been using these size 14 Eagle Claw barrel snap swivels for throwing the WP 90 (1/2 oz) on a 7’ mojo casting rod spooled with 12 lb Trilene XL mono. It seems like either the weight of the lure or the stress of repeated casts is too much for them, however and I constantly find them either coming unsnapped or the wire coming out of the frame altogether. Are they not made to withstand this much weight/pressure? If not, what do you recommend? I got some off of Amazon that were equally inadequate. Thanks! https://www.amazon.com/Eagle-Claw-Barrel-Swivel-Safety/dp/B000EYTWDI?th=1&psc=1
  8. Yeah my buddy was telling me about those glass cranking champions, that sounds like the move for me. May as well upgrade if I’m going to switch it up rather than a lateral move like Fury.
  9. What power and action for each of those? I have no idea what those model numbers are.
  10. See that’s what I thought, and my problem is Dobyns only offer a moderate-fast action in the medium heavy, the heavy is fast and so for treble hooked baits you are forced to use the medium heavy which if it’s overrated it is not enough backbone for throwing the 1/2 oz spinnerbaits, Chatterbaitsand whopper ploppers I’m wanting to use it for. I guess I’m stuck w Mojo?
  11. I’ve heard Dobyns are rated over one power, how accurate is this?
  12. How much thicker do I need to go in diameter to make a notable difference and resolve my fraying/breaking issues?
  13. See I thought summer was the easiest time to locate them, no? What do you suppose is at stake?
  14. It is not breaking at the knot, my problem is strictly abrasion and fraying So the Seaguar Blue Label would be a bad choice since it is a smaller diameter than what I am currently using?
