i agree, it depends on the size of the top water and terrain. Typically, i use over 7' MH - H. My weapons of choice: Megabass Destroyer: F7-71X7 Aaron Martens Evoluzion Super Diablo C40 Evoluzion White Python C40

I only suggest, the best you can afford (do some research/read reviews) Know exactly what you want to use it for i.e bait finesse, power fishing, etc. You can find some outstanding deals if you source hard enough. You can get lucky and get $300-500 reel for less than half. Good Luck
