  1. Electric Anchors Looking for feedback- How many of you use an electric anchor or anchors (Minn Kota deckhand or similar)? I have been saving for/considering Power Poles or MK Talons but starting thinking about these. I would use these in a variety of conditions (TN river and tributaries). I was thinking about using one up front and one at back. Hopefully with the idea that they might behave somewhat like poles. Please offer your advice and pros/cons. Thanks
  2. This a pic (although not good) of my son and a deer he shot this past week on some public land accessible only by kayak.
  3. Not sure either, but I know that they don't skimp on the glue. That was the hardest part when changing the carpet on mine-cleaning off all the old glue.
  4. We only shoot what we will eat (usually 1 or 2). Sometimes we'll get one for someone else who wants the meat.
  5. Great posts! I have a few things that I'll be adding in the near future based on everyone's ideas. It's always good to hear some good advice. ?
  6. I've replaced the carpet in a couple of boats. I got mine from a local wholesale carpet company that had carpet for boats. Cost was around $150. Both times the carpet has served me well.
  7. Hello to everyone. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the articles and forums on this website. I found this website a couple of years ago while searching to learn more about bass fishing. I have grown up fishing but just for whatever would bite. In the past few years I have helped/coached the local high school bass fishing team (a very rewarding task) and have wanted to increase my knowledge. We primarily fish the TN river lakes. This site has helped. Thanks to all.
  8. New here but thought I'd chime in. I have an '04 Triton V197 with a 200 Mercury. It is very stable and will run in the upper 60s. It has a 44 gallon fuel tank and plenty of storage. It's a little over 19 ft. I've had this boat over a year and have really enjoyed it.
