  1. What do you like? And what is better about it? :
  2. Actually, a number of times. But only one time on the upper Myakka and that was last Saturday! In 17 years, this was thge 1st time! Bass there are seldom over 3-5 pounds, but I have always caught quite a few. This last Sat I got totally skunked, with 3 hours of steady, hard fishing! My wife was with me and got a Garfish on a spinnerbait!
  3. Thanks Jim, i'm gonna try one out in the Bass Pro store and see how it feels.
  4. Hmmm, the medalist 8040 sounds like it will be perfect! Thanks for the heads up!
  5. Well, I want to go with a spinning reel that retrieves more line per turn, partly for speed and partly because I fish a LOT! Just ask my wife! > I have elbow trouble and the less revolutions I have to turn a day and the slower I can turn them, the better! I don't need the spool to hold a lot of yards of line, just to retrierve it more inches per turn.
  6. I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions on the larger spool spinning reels? Which pick up the most line per turn? Which are the lightest? And which ones are junk?
  7. NOPE! ;D 60 miles from the new BPS store!!! Been there 3 x since it opened Nov 2nd
  8. I replied. I am very happy with the All Star rods I got for you! I was also very impressed that you went the extra mile for me with shipping them so quickly! THANKS!!!!
  9. I have the Extreme and it's nice! I think I will get the new 7.1:1
  10. Those sound good! I wonder when they will be available?[quote author=senko77 link=1166757559/0#1 date=1166760378]I just got the firsts off the Bass Pro 2007 master fishing catalog and BPS is going to have the extreme, pro qaulifier, johnny morris, and rick clunn in the burner model. Most off the reels I just names are under 100$. Also, the new extremes has 7 bearings rather than 5 and a stronger drag system.
  11. Thanks for the input! I have fished buzzbaits for many years and use them about 80% of all my bass fishing time. Today I caught 22 bass, while fishing with my 27 year old son, all on buzzbaits. You'd be surprised how fast a bass can swim! I consider a buzzbait a reaction lure, the less time a bass has to look it over, the more likely they are to eat it! There certainly are times to fish them slow though. I LIKE FAST!!!
  12. I have always been a spinning reel guy, but would like to try a good-FAST- baitcaster. I have seen 7:1 ratio baitcasters, but they were $200. and more. Any suggestions? I would like to use it for flippin and for buzzbait fishing. Thanks!
