Those are some awesome rods guys. I need to check out that at Academy. REALLY LIKE THIS REEL! How much did you pay for that reel? Don't you just love when this happens and then a bass latches on to your bait.

I agree with what IndianaFinesse said and I can't stand otters. If they're gonna eat a bass at least eat all of the meat and don't waste it. Even though I hate seeing a bass die. Has anybody seen this one in the bass master magazine? I didn't catch this one though.

That's some pretty neat looking fish out there and a few weird ones. I don't have a picture of the one I caught but it looked like it had something wrong with its back.

I say go for it. Like your talking about, it shouldn't take long and won't cost to bad. In my opinion, you don't really need paint on them unless the water is really clear water. Depends on what it looks like after the paint is scratched. That may repel the fish but if its murky than it would be great. The fish don't really care what color it is they just want something to eat. I've caught tons of fish with scratched up jigs all the time. Like I said earlier that's my opinion and that works for me here in Mississippi.

Yeah well we're going back tomorrow so hopefully I'll beat him. I normally get the lunker of the fishing trip in the summer, fall or spring. This is my first year winter fishing so its kinda different.

I agree with you one day while I was on the river, we waited til there was about an hour left of day light and threw out our lines and brought back 52 fish one by one. We got lucky that day. The next day we went and didn't catch any fish. That's why they call it fishing not catching.

I bring with me sweet tea of course (what's fishing without sweet tea)I like to eat sunflower seeds, Chocolate chip granola bars, Twix or snickers ( depends on how I'm feeling) and my home made deer jerky.

I actually have one. There really nice for crank baits and are really sensitive that way you can feel on the bottom really well. What's best about them is they are affordable. My favorite place when shopping for rods that are at a decent price would probably be Amazon or your local Academy.

Well when I was bringing in the fish it got caught up on a ten foot log about two foot from the bank and he shook it. So I throw back out there for about an hour longer, same spot, then I hook into the same fish and lose him on the bank. She spit it out when I was getting ready to flip her on the dam. Sorry guys for making it sound complicated. What I meant was should I throw square bills parallel with the bank because that's how my buddy was catching them. Or should I try something totally different and fish slow with a soft plastic. I was throwing a Strike King Red Eye Sexy shad rattletrap. They were the exact same color so I guess it was the action. Thanks guys for trying to understand sorry for the trouble.
