Frogging w/o Braid?
You can get away with using heavy mono or fluorocarbon, but I like braid for just about everything. Braid is much stronger, no stretch, and fish won't break it off.

Am I normal?
Nothing wrong with you, I'm the same way! My wife thinks I have an obsession as well.

Kentucky Anglers
I fished this past Sunday for about 3 hours in the afternoon. First 2 hours I was using a spinnerbait, senko, and ned rig with no bites at all. Switched to a Yo-Zuri red and black lipless crankbait and caught 3 keepers in a row. Then the bite slowed down again. Water was still pretty cold.

Wide roomy yak?
I bought the Ocean Kayak Malibu Two XL Angler last year. Its been great! Plenty of room. I fish it as a single, and with my son, and it holds us both and all our gear no problem. Very stable.

If you could only limit yourself to 1 rod, 1 reel, and 3 lures ( soft plastics w/ hooks or other lure ) what would you chose
Lews rod and Lews baitcasting reel. 5 inch senko Berkley Pitbull crankbait Colorado blade spinnerbait

what baits/lures for new guy?
If your just learning with a baitcaster then don't break the bank. Get a decent Lew's baitcasting combo. As for lures, in my opinion, must haves are: Gary Yamamoto Original Senko, YUM Dinger, Strike King Lipless Crankbaits, Booyah Spinnerbaits, Berkley Pitbull Crankbaits, and Berkley Bad Shad Crankbaits. Those should get you started off right.

Bourbon (And All Things Whiskey. Or Whisky, If You Like Scotch)
Being from and living in Kentucky, bourbon is all I drink! I currently have open bottles of Larceny, Buffalo Trace, Jefferson's Reserve, W.L. Weller Special Reserve, Old Forester, and Old Forester Signature. I never mix it, and no chasers! I drink it neat, or one ice cube only!

Current Favorite Lipless Crank Baits ?
I really love the Yo-Zuri line of lipless crankbaits! I caught a lot of nice ones on them last year, especially during the pre-spawn. Anything in Red, or silver with some blue!

- Spinning or Bait Caster?
It all depends on the situation, conditions, lures, etc. I prefer casting for crankbaits, but I'll use spinning or casting when using soft plastics. All depends on the situation.- Best way to catch bluegill
I always had the best luck with live crickets- Brand Loyalty?
I prefer Lews rods and reels. I also really like the Berkley Lightnin Rods - Spinning or Bait Caster?
