How much to budget for a kayak?
I bought the Ocean Kayak Malibu II XL Angler last year through Cabelas. It's 13.5 feet long, and 35 inches wide. It comes with two padded seats and two rod holders because its large enough for two, but seats can be removed to fish solo also. Great Kayak. Only Weighs 75 lbs. I bought the Thule 883 Glide and Set rooftop kayak carrier for it. Works great and no problems transporting it on my Subaru Outback. The Glide and Set even makes it easy to load and unload on my own.

How do you choose a search bait
It's all just a matter of confidence. Whatever search bait you have the most confidence in, is the one you should throw first.

Storing Tackle?
I fish from a kayak and the bank. Just bought a new Spiderwire tackle bag in January. It comes with 5 storage boxes and there is room to add more. It also has plenty of storage pockets for hooks, pliars, line, extra soft plastic packs, etc. Highly recommend!

Thinking of buying a budget kayak
Lifetime is a good brand. If you can get that kayak for $199 then jump all over it.

bank fishing-what to look for?
I would suggest bank fishing from smaller ponds and getting away from the larger bodies of water.

Bank fishing
It's much harder to bank fish on a lake because I feel limited in the area I can fish. I much prefer ponds when bank fishing. I suggest an affordable kayak so you can get the best of both worlds.

Line wraps around behind the spool
Use braided line and don't fill the spool as much.

Spawn time = yawn time. I hate the spawn....... there, I said it.
I catch bigger fish during the spawn, but I catch more fish in the summer. Early mornings in the summer is my favorite time to fish.

Fishing around private docks, etc?
It's pretty simple folks. If someone is on their dock, don't fish it! If someone is fishing from the bank, then move along and don't disrupt their fishing! If you are not an accurate caster then don't cast close to someones boat that is docked!

Fishing with redish lures
With color just match the color to the forage the bass are feeding on. Also, biologists have said that red and blue are the two colors bass can see the best.

Help with new Casting Setup
I used to be a Quantum guy, but bought a Lew's casting rod and reel last year and now I'm hooked! Can't go wrong with any Lew's products. Lew's is all I'll buy from now on. I have two casting Lew's rod and reels, and one spinning Lew's rod and reel. I love them all.

early spring tactics?
Early spring here in Kentucky I throw a lipless crankbait. Once the water gets to about 60 degrees though you can start throwing just about anything. For Catfish I always like chicken livers.
