  1. For sure, trying to get this thing out but the wife has other plans for my weekends, looking st a cold snap coming to FL next week so next weekend isn't looking like the week I'll take it out.
  2. I currently have a backpack with my tackle for salt / brackish waters that I'll likely take with me for storage. I'll find a way to secure it so I don't lose it, but I don't carry a lot of tackle unless I'm bass fishing. I know I need a GPS, I plan on running mangroves and I know I'll get lost if I don't have a map to get back.
  3. Just picked up a sportsman 106 pdl. I wanna modify it before I take it out once this weather breaks. What's everyone's suggestions of what I should put on there?
  4. Fairly new to the Manatee County area, anyone wanna share a few spots to do some good fishing that isn't the skyway. Don't mind paying the tolls to get to st Pete but the skyway is always packed. Open to fresh and salt water spots
  5. I live in north Palmetto so I'm usually fishing around the green bridge or the Bradenton bridge right now. Those places are close to me and I have access to them at night
  6. I recently picked up 2 of these from academy when they opened a store near me. With a 20% off coupon for opening and came across a 10$ glide bait I couldn't pass it up. But has anyone thrown these? These are gonna be my first glide baits and I'm not really down to spend 30+ $ on a glide bait that I could lose bc I fish from shore so I figured these would be a good starting point
  7. That's what I've heard is they are more active at night, but I'm in a little cove area and land locked so I might have some troubles getting a bite. But we will see!
  8. OK, I'm finishing at night bc that's when I have off. So I'm pretty much just hoping I can hook up on one during that time. I've got a jerk bait that I bought thinking that it'd work well for snook, I've only thrown it once so I need to put more time into it bc I think it could really produce. I'm fishing from the bank so I'm limited on where I can get especially at night.
  9. OK, I got a couple packs of the vudu shrimp last weekend and gave those a try, but I couldn't really find any videos on how to fish those things well. I kept seeing people putting them on popping corks, but I don't have one of those.
  10. I live close to the river and fish it on the weekends when I'm off at night. I'd like to target snook along the river anyone have any advice for that?
  11. I don't have a basket yet, it's on my list of things to get to be set up for catching bigger fish out there. I've got some 30 lb floro. How long of a leader should I be tying on? Usually for fresh water I use between 3 and 6 ft, but I assume ima need a longer leader for this application
  12. Should I just spool my reel with braid and go to a floro leader, or do I need to have a pretty big section of floro. I'll be doing some pier fishing, and fishing from the beach.
  13. Thanks for the info, I figure I'll be holding my rod the entire time I couldn't see a need to set it down unless the bite is super slow.
  14. I've got a kastking rekon reel paired with a crixus 7ft mh rod. Not targeting anything specific, it's gonna be somthing to do on my nights off, not trying to tempt the swamp puppies I'd normally be around during the day, so pier fishing is my next best option.
  15. Yea salt water, FL gulf side night fishing to be specific.
