Line for frogging/jigs
I just got a Bantam MGL and a Megabass destroyer fmj for jigs. I want to use this rod occasionally for frogs and small swimbaits. Fluorocarbon would be my go to for jigs but I know it’s not good for frogs. Would I be loosing anything choosing braid over fluorocarbon? Or should I look at a good monofilament?

That’s what I was thinking too, thanks!

Scorpion MGL or Bantam MGL
I’m right there with you, I have a couple metaniums MGLs and I read about the new 2020 metanium coming soon and now I’m going to need that one too ?. Which gear ratio should I get on the Bantam? The HG or XG?

Scorpion MGL or Bantam MGL
I’m looking to get a new reel for frog, flipping/pitching and small swimbaits. I love the look of the Scorpion MGL but the every review of the Bantam is great. Which reel would you guys recommend?

Chronarch MGL vs Metanium MGL
Its the JDM Met, you can find them on eBay, Japan lure shop, or digitaka. I think the only difference is a slightly smaller spool than the US model. Also no warranty of that bothers you, I've personally never had to use the warranty on a Shimano reel.

Chronarch MGL vs Metanium MGL
I'm having a hard time deciding between the new Chronarch Mgl and the Metanium mgl. I have a 13 Metanium and absolutely love it, I used it mostly for senkos. I plan on using the new reel for small swimbaits up to 5inches maybe bigger, jigs, and top water. I can get a JDM Met for about the same price as the chronarch, what do you guys think would be the better reel?

Swimbait Rod
Thanks guy for all the help, I think I'm going to go with the fury 806. This will be my first time throwing big swimbaits so I'm pretty excited even though it might take more than a few trips to get a good bite.

Swimbait Rod
I just realized I was looking at the Dobyns Champion series, the fury line is within my price range. Has anyone fished both fury and Irod?

Swimbait Rod
Thanks for all the responses, I really like the dobyns 806 but that just a little bit out of my price range unless I can find a good deal on one. I guess I'm going to look into the iROD gen II, they are only 149.

Swimbait Rod
Thanks for the replies! Those are the ones I was looking at, I believe I'm going with the Okuma.

Swimbait Rod
I'm looking to start some swim-bait fishing and need to get opinions on a good swim-bait rod, I'll be pairing the rod with a curado 300E. I think I'll mainly be throwing 6-8 inch hudds. I really don't want to spend too much so lets say under 200 but any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Transducer on Jon boat
Thanks! Everyone here is very helpful.

Transducer on Jon boat
That's the one I was thinking about getting, how do you like it? Is the magnet strong enough to hold if something hit it?
-
Transducer on Jon boat
Thanks for the ideas! I'm going to purchase the hummingbird helix with the 2d sonar. I think I may go with the c-clamp and board much cheaper than the magnet mount. How deep do you position the transducer under the boat? And what size board do you use?

Transducer on Jon boat
I have a 12ft Jon boat and I'm about to purchase my first fish finder. I plan on using a magnetic mount but my question is should I mount it on the rear, side, or front(if that's even possible). I always fish from the back because I have a transom mount trolling motor and I'm always the one controlling the boat.
