  2. Thank you! There are frogs and a ton of tall grass surrounding the open water Its a lot bigger just covered In tall grass I'll try the live bait option and also I think I may have seen a turtle

Hello I'm new to the forum and relatively new to bass fishing I'm from socal and I don't go as much as I'd like and I'm not very successful. now to my question: There is a pond by my house that I have fished out of it's pretty big and from the looks of it I'd say relatively deep but I haven't been having any luck there, the pond is fed by the Santa Ana River which people catch bass every day is there any chance that this pond wouldn't have a bass population if the rest of the river does I have seen some top water bites early in the morning and sunset but I think they might be trout. Is there any chance that there aren't any largemouth and how can I find out for sure?
