  2. There is no "normal." Didn't you ever seen the movie Angus? ;D I'm completely obsessed with bass fishing. No other fishing, but when it comes to bass... well, I'm sure you understand. My wife gives me this look every time I leave to head for the water. I know some of you can relate. haha lol
  3. thanks for the help
  4. im 16 and i am a fully fledged member of B.A.S.S. can i fish B.A.S.S. tournaments or can i only fish Jr. B.A.S.S. tournaments?
  5. the way i can make pin point cast's are i hold the rod straight up in front of me at 12 o clock , release the spool friction (pushing the button) pull the rod back to 3-4 o clock and cast it out , it takes some time getting used to and just practice , practice ect. flipping and pitching ( http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/flipping_pitching.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/flipping_pitching_fishing.html ) slow roll is a retrieval ( reeling in ) when you cast ur spinnerbait out let it sink to the bottom (watch for a strike on the fall) and you reel it in slowly so it maintains contact with the bottom. the texas rig and the carolina rig are mainly for plastics like worms , or lizards here is some info on that (http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/worm_rigs.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/Texas_Carolina_bass_fishing.html ) if you want to find more info search the site under the techniques tab and all the other tabs just my $ . 02 good luck and tight lines bud
  6. also one more thing , when its windy use a CRANKBAIT! good luck and tight lines.
  7. in the river just try topwaters and senkos because after it rains bugs n stuff fall from the trees and worms(senko's) may be washed down into the river due to alot of rain
  8. top waters should work fine , but in small ponds since there may not be shad in em , so their main food comes from the tree's ( bugs/flies ect.) which translates to topwater baits. Also the other main food is worms (which translates to senko's and power worms ect.) and the other main food is the panfish or the small fish in the pond ( which translates to crankbaits and spinnerbaits so that means try getting crankbaits with the same color at the baitfish in the pond , like if there is bream try chartruse colors). with senkos try getting a dark color and texas rig it with out any weights and for youre retrieval just twitch it and pause. With youre crankbaits do not use a straight normal retrieval try a yo-yo retrieval or a stop and go retrieval with 3 second pauses near cover , or if there is no visable cover cast paralell to the banks and just retrieve em and do the same with senkos ect. If youre still not getting any bites just throw ur lures in the middle of the pond and change spots often when youre throwing youre lures in the middle of the pond. just my $.02
  9. i like the way you put it.
  10. np , and welcome to the boards
  11. i think they flew away... no were do you live , whats the water temp , water clarity , forms of cover? if it has been warm the past cuple of days they are going to be along the banks , or holding tight to cover during the heat of the day. if it has been cold they are going to be alittle deep in cover. just my .04
  12. welcome , you should try to find a pond and since its cold up there go for a slower presentation bait like a senko. get the senko t-rigged without the weights and throw it in cover , some ponds dont have visable cover so just throw it along the shore/bank and twitch it or w.e. slowly. for youre shore fishing throw a worm or senko , possibly jig-n-pig along the shore line , banks , and most of all any form of cover. just my .02
  13. i read from an article somewhere that the red hooks resemble the gills of baitfish and/or can resemble bleeding baits , i personaly only use red hooks because those are the only hooks at my walmart made for t-rig stuff and they work very very well.
  14. i purchased the bite lites , the kick tails , and the walking worm. i actually caught fish on all of em. the kick tail is actually pretty sturdy but it does have plastic things holding it together it would probably break after a few hard strikes. the bite lites are kinda cheesy looking but their pretty good for night fishing. the walking worm is kind of a scam because it curls up once and stops completely moving. but most people complain because they do not catch fish in an instant. your only gonna catch a fish on these lures the same rate as all the other lures , its just a concept if you know how to use the lures properly or not. i fish many tournaments a year and i would never use any of these baits in a tournament because i personally do not have any faith in these lures when it comes to serious fishing and i would not recommend these lures for any body to buy. just go out and by some normal lures. just my .03
  15. i was just wondering what kind of baits people threw under docks and what techniques they used , because most people ive fished with all throw different baits under docks. so what kind of bait do you throw under docks and how do you work it? i personally throw a senko t-rigged without any weights and i just hop it along the bottom.
  16. yea i think alot about girls , and i make really good grades and i have a good social life , its just this fishing thing...
  17. one word....... kicktail lure....
  18. everyone i know keeps complaining about my fishing addiction/obsession and all i really think about besides god and the important stuff is bass , bass , and all types of fishing. is it normal to go fishing everyday and think about fish 24/7 ?
  19. i only have one rod and reel and i fish alot of tournaments but i dont know what i should do , because i am constantly fishing different forms of cover and i need to use different lures , but i dont know if i should use a snap swivel or what. what should i do?
  20. k so there is no free boats in sponsorships? and what kinda discount are we talking bout?
  21. im trying to get a boat sponsorship because i cannot afford one but , does a boat sponsorship mean i ask for a whole boat for free if i wear their name or is it a discount or what? and when i call boat dealers what do i say or ask for? thanks and tight lines
  22. has any one tried any of these lures , comments?
  23. hmm if the bass is floating on top of the water i would suggest a net , it always worked for me , but if your meaning about a foot or so under water try a spinnerbait , buzzbait , or usually any top water rapala or popper.
