  1. Has anyone attached a Minn Kota motor to a wilderness kayak, more specifically an Atak 140. Someone to help me walk through what I need and how to do it. I am looking at doing this before fishing opens in Wisconsin. Already checked youtube and have not found anything really useful. Thanks!
  2. Can't fish lakes until May. You might be able to find a few rivers that are open year round to be fished but have not seen much on the fishing reports. Looks like your going a few weeks too early . Sucks man!
  3. thanks thats awesome insight... do you have a specific bag you had in mind? i have a fishing backpack for pond hopping but was wondering what you were thinking? thanks
  4. A buddy of mine swears by the champ series and dobyns in general and I can see why... great quality...
  5. I am looking to put a well rounded tackle collection together over the next month before I start fishing tournaments in my fishing league. Now I have a hodge podge of tackle with no real rhyme or reason to it. I want to have a good base of tackle to fish throughout the early spring to late fall. I would like to know what would be all in this collection. terminal tackle, hooks, weights, jigs, cranks, plastics, etc. Trying to make a good list so I can purchase and organize. Also I was to fish proficiently as a non boater. I'd also like to cover most to all fishing techniques. I know this is asking a ton but I thought I would make a list of those that respond to this. Trust me I wont buy everything because thats a good way to go broke, but spending some money wont hurt.
  6. On a drunken whim decided to buy this rod last week... I am pleasantly surprised i like it better then the scIII mojo the wife picked up for me.... looking at a few Sierras and Champion XP to throw in the arsenal... thanks for the suggestion
  7. Debating between st. croix avid or avid x line and dobyns fury, sierra, and savvy? What would you guys say are the best benefits to a dobyn vs st. croix.? I like the sierra they look sharp... never actually held one... I am a big fan of how the avid x feels. Thanks for the input.
  8. I think for the price jump, are they the same blanks? I am talking about the new mojo blanks to the avid x blanks. what is the 70 dollar jump?
  9. I am looking at getting a new line of rods and I like both the St. Croix Bass X and St Croix Mojo. Is there a real big jump from an scII bass x and scIII mojo, not a lot of info about the bass x? Had a chance to hold one at a local fishing shop and I was impressed on the balance and weight. I have fished mojo's before(last summer), not my own, but wasn't crazy impressed with it. If anyone has any info about any of this let me know. I am kind of torn to which one. Also any other options someone would go with in the same price range and quality like St. Croix? Thanks. Taylor
  10. I just picked up the tournament mg on amazon for a hundred and change, well worth it the thing is a hell of a reel at the price
  11. I have noticed that very thing that so many have different ways of doing things that not every single person has the "right way". thanks
  12. thanks I appreciate the help with moving this. Anyways I ordered a spool gunna fish it this spring before tournaments start just to see.. i will report back...
  13. I think I might actually use a casting rod. I just like the wind advantage you have with it.
  14. Seen many reviews on amazon and other websites that this Kasting King fortis braid line is the real deal. Like most I am a spectra power pro guy and have a hard time switching to this but at the price it's tempting to try. Any thoughts or has anyone tried it? good, bad, or ugly? Can someone also show me how to move this to the right category thanks.
  15. Picking up a jerkbait rod set for spring and was wondering what people's personal opinion was between casting or spinning? If you could be specific on the advantages that would be great? I have heard people swear one over the other better, so would love some more input. Thanks everyone. Happy Friday! Disclaimer: seen others have posted about them but want more recent opinions with development of rods.
  16. Step ahead the bears fans at least you guys got a good quarterback wide out combo.
  17. no doubt man I have a ton as well every color lol and bags and bags of them.
  18. I personally try to support the local tackle shops/gun shops (the ma and pop shops) when I did go to Gander Mountain I found it to be very overpriced and staff not knowledgeable enough about what they were selling. I did go to more then one Gmnt with still the same outcome. Not that I am happy they are going bankrupt because I do agree with most that it will hurt the consumer. Hopefully they don't close for good and they can recover and do a better job overall on price and costumer service.
  19. 1) A really nice pair of water shoes, a nice pair of polarized sunglasses, and a pelican waterproof case for keys and cell phone. 2)Go to bait that has always helped when the fishing is hard is a weightless senko.
  20. much better thanks. appreciate it.
  21. Okay sounds good. If you happen to find out let me know, I would love to change my typo lol
  22. kinda funny I totally misspelled it. its suppose to be phishing* anyway to change it?
  23. Hey, My names Taylor and I love fishing. New to fishing only have been doing it for 2 years. You can say I'm pretty much an addict at this point. I use to fish for bluegills from the bank when I first started out, then I found out about bass fishing. I now own a fishing kayak and had a full season of bass fishing last year from it and absolutely loved it. This season I joined a bass fishing club out of Madison as a non boater and am super excited to start competing in tournaments. I have been a guy that loves reading in the forums but never had an account. Now I have an account and look forward to sharing what I learned and learning from everyone else. Thanks for the welcome. Taylor
