I found a place that sells Tungsten football jig heads,I bought them in 1/2 oz got then skirted up and took them out this past week end, I fish clear highland style lakes, So it's 20 ft or deeper, I was really Impressed the feel of these jigs,But I found myself setting the hook on every thing, i think I can get a way with 3/8 oz, But when you break one of in a brushpile !!!!!!! O well no guts , No glory !!

In the spring it's hard to beat a slow rolled spinnerbait,Deadly for Large,and smallmouth,here in Maryland , But I fish highland resivor type lake, But once summer arrives a chatterbait shines ,The guys who fish the rivers,upper bay,Potomac do very well with a chatterbait . So I agree with and earlyer post, Spinnerbait deep, Chatterbait shallow

Yea at the price of Jerkbaits you hate to lose them,Two things come to mine, When sinching down your knot make shure you moisten the line,and don't overtighten the knot,secure the knot ,but don't really pull down on the line to the point you stretch the florocarbon . Remember the old saying a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. With florocarbon being the weak link in your chain. I use all florocarbon on my jerkbait rods with out any problem's, Rember braid has no stretch !! Hope this helps

I all so have this mold, and I us it for chatterbaits, Just snip the tie end of the wire,add a blade. Add a skirt, rig your minnow style,or creature trailer Texas-rigged, Works great when fishing wood,lay-downs. With usual Chatter-baits they down work that good in the wood.

With Jacob Wheeler wining The bass master elite at Cherokee and I think the intire top 5, They all were tight lineing I hear walleye fisherman have been using this method for years, Was wondering If anyone uses this method. I know its a cold water method .I have bought Berkley Gulp minnows, and even bought a do-it minnow mold to make different weight heads, The lakes I fish are your highland resivorie we don't have shad, but we have whiteperch witch the bass small mouths, largemouth feed on in cold water.Was wondering if anyone has any thoughts or tips they would like to share??

I know here in the Northeast .The jig/shot works better when the water warms up. When you drop shot in colder water you want you bait closer to weight,6 to 8 inchs, Try this rig after they spawn . Try a small sink o wacky rigged On your jigshot rig

My thought is Cabela's really was known For there Hunting supply's there clothing is outstanding Gun's ammo They have that covered also, Bass Pro was marketed to Bass fishing.Johnny Morris started selling Tackei out of his father's liquor store, and look where he's at now. With those two Giant retailer's don't leave much for anyone else. I always try to support local shops ,But they can't carry the selection that we like to see, The internet is so convienent get what ever you need at a push of a button .Gander Mt was late to the party.Just my thought's

Yes I was refuring the Lake in Orange VA,, Sorry I didn't make that clear, Thank you both for time and input.Wayne P I always stop at the Gander Mountain in Charlottesville when we are down there ,Really like The Charlottesville area have checked out some lakes in the area, Trying get son-law in to fishing, Heading to Briery last week of March look forward to that trip every year. I go to Briery Creek each year in late March early April time Frame, We go through Orange on are way. Did some research on Orange proved interesting,Seen there are some nice Largemouth have came out of this small lake. I was at Lake Anna this fall and was talking to a guide at Anna Point said he had caught a 13lb lm from Orange. Told me he fish's there early spring. We talked Briery he didn't like it Because of getting around , Ha had 20 glass boat 250 hp not a lot of good at Briery. Was just wondering if any one fish's there and care to talk a little fishing. I have a Daughter ,Son inlaw who live in Charlottesville so I have a place close by to stay.. Thanks

Ordered this mold Sat from Jann's . Tried the Ned rig late in the year with good results. Indiana is right you pay good money for the z man heads an after a few fish the bait keeper barb breaks off. So if you use those heads make sure you have some super glue!
