Anyone who says Z Man chatters are junk is clueless!! I catch more fish on Zman's than any other chatter. I tried a few customs last year and did ok, but when I needed a fish..IT WAS Z MAN!!! I am going to try Picasso this year and see what they do with my zman's. The Picasso chatters look amazing with the fish-head jig design. A few more months and it's chatter time up here in the North!!! By the way, look at the current issue of BASSMASTER magazine. Trophy pics have several Z Man Chatterbaits listed as bait used....didn't see any other chatters...Nuff said!

As mentioned, Bass will spawn at varying temperatures below or near 60 degrees....the lunar period is what influences the actual spawn, coinciding with the temperature being close to actual spawning temps. If a full or new moon happens to be present ( 3 days before or after ) this will greatly influence bass to spawn....as long as there is no major cold front that drops temps dramatically. If it's 60 degree's and a front comes through dropping the temp. to say 55....bass will still spawn.

Up here in the North it's tough to get Bass over 5 lbs., on a regular basis. There are plenty 3-4# fish to be had, but 5+ takes some work. I did manage to catch a 6# bass two years ago and last year my biggie was 4#. I would be a happy camper if I can hook a 5#+ fish in '07. I sincerely believe a few 5's are coming my way....especially during our Monday eve. tournaments .

It is primarily used for smallies, but it works just fine on Largemouth's too. Guys, this is a cold-water tactic when bass are extremely lethargic due to low water temperatures. The fly stays in the strike zone longer and usually entices some fish to bite. This tactic works well when all else fails.
