Long weekend trip to DFW
So at some point in the near future I will have the opportunity to take a 3-4 day trip to Dallas to do some fishing. Specifically, I want to fish for largemouth. I’m willing to pay for a guide also. So I have a few questions: 1. What time of year should I be going? I would like to go in the fall. Am I better off waiting until the spring so I can fish the spawn? 2. How do guide services work? Do guides specifically fish one lake, or do I tell them what lake I want to fish and we go there? 3. Does anybody know any guides in the area? thanks

Versatile heavy rod
Looking for a an all around rod to use with some heavier duty techniques like swimbaits (big ez’s and stuff like that), jigs, heavy Texas rigs, punching, frogging etc. I want to use 40-50 pound braid as the cover near me isn’t really heavy. Trying to minimize the amount of rods I have so this will be an all around kinda thing to complement my 6 foot 6 medium heavy rod. I prefer shorter rods, so maybe a 6 foot 8 to 7 foot. Any reccomendations for what rod to go with? Also for a reel, could I stick with something in the 150 size like a shimano casitas or caenan or do I need to go up to something a bit bigger? Looking to spend around 200 bucks on the setup.

Learning experience trip today
So I'm just getting into bass fishing, and I have been pond fishing a lot. Today was my best day so far, I caught 8 bass in three hours. I caught 2 in the deep part of the pond, and there is also a big portion that is shallow. I caught 6 in the shallow part, on senkos and brush hogs. However, I lost 2 and I missed a lot of bites. I was using a 2/0 ewg for the brush hog (baby brush hog) and a 3/0 ewg for the senkos. My hook up ratio was a lot better with the senkos though. Any thoughts on why I missed so many on the brush hog? Also, what do you guys like to fish in shallow water? (8 inches-2feet) ps: had one hit a buzzbait, missed it. It is April and i fish in PA

Shimano Caenan vs Daiwa fuego ct
Looking to buy a baitcasting setup. I'm thinking daiwa fuego Ct or shimano caenan. I also need to buy a rod, looking to spend around $50 on a rod. Should I go with the fuego or the caenan? Any thoughts for a rod?

Shootout of the $80 reels - PQ, Speed Spool, Aird
Thanks. I think I am going with the fuego.

Darn... no bass pro within two hours of me.

When do you get a pro qualifier for $50?

First baitcaster
Ok tatula sounds nice. Is the fuego much different or should I just spend more and get a tatula?

First baitcaster
I'm just pond fishing, is the tatula overkill?

First baitcaster
Ok... Here is what I have narrowed it down to. Lews speed spool, daiwa aird, bass pro JM, bass pro bionic place, or pro max.

First baitcaster
Thanks. I will be relatively easy on it and probably fish 3-4 times a week. A graphite frame should work. Now, should I go with a silver max or a pro max?

First baitcaster
People keep recommending the pro max, but will the graphite frame last? That was one of my first choices, but the graphite scared me away.

How are the bass pro reels? Looking at the bionic blade, pro qualifier, and JM carbonlight. The carbonlight looks like the best choice. Does anybody have any experience with these?

First baitcaster
I am just getting into bass fishing, but I saltwater fish a lot, with mostly spinning gear. So I would say beginner.

First baitcaster
Looking for my first baitcasting setup. I want to spend around 150 total. Looking into a shimano convergence for a rod, and I have no idea about a reel. What should I look for in a good reel? So far I am looking for just aluminum frames, because I am hearing bearing count doesn't matter as much, as long as the reel is nice. What else should I look for? Does anybody have any reccomendations for a reel around $80? Thanks
