In Missouri Current Bass Behaviour
I wonder if the heavy rains as of lately have anything to do with that. Is the water temp still pretty cold?

Why can't I catch bass
I'm going to have to agree with this...the right colors for the right color waters is key. And if you have a boat get a sonar and learn to use it, youtube is your friend. The sonar will help be in the right place more often. I even use it when bank fishing with the Deeper Pro+. Saves time on searching

Yesterday...a first and a humbling
I've personally had days like this, but even a bad of fishing is better than a good day at work.

Help me "Break/understand the code"
I agree the line is probably too light. I use 20lb braid with a 10lb fluorocarbon leader. Definitely lubricate knots before cinching.

Tough condition advice
Maybe I'm missing something but these conditions don't look so rough to me...as far as what my experience is; drop shot is great for soft weedy bottoms with fish hanging out low in the water column dark colors for dark water, natural colors for clearer water. Texas weighted rig for hard bottoms. For fish in the middle of the water column I love the lipless crank baits and the crawdad pattern is perfect for the spring time of the year. Might still be a little cool for top water but in the early mornings or dusk might throw a buzz bait and get some reaction strikes. Just my $0.02

In Missouri Current Bass Behaviour
Hey guys, so from experiences fishing lately, I would have to describe the bass as being in pre-spawn mode. Catching them mostly in areas close to (what I suspect) spawning beds. Are you guys experiencing the same thing?

Kayak fishing missouri
For river and stream smallies in this area I'd probably say that my favorite places would probably be the upper Meramec by Sullivan. I also like the Current and Jack's Fork as well. The problem with the last two is sometimes they are packed with floaters during the summer months which makes the fishing difficult. My experience is any of the bigger Ozark Scenic River Ways have great small mouth populations.

Intermediate from St. Louis
Hi guys, I've been fishing for most of my life, but just starting to get serious about bass fishing within the last year. I found this forum while watching YouTube videos. Anyway, I'm a bank fisherman who enjoys the challenge of getting to and fishing those hard to reach spots which is also why soon I plan on purchasing a kayak and start really exploring the many Ozark streams we have here in Missouri. I'm interested in finding new spots and learning new techniques. Just wanted to say hi and I look forward to what I'm going to learn here.
