  1. Awesome thank you a bunch just was checking I’m pulling pretty hard and line digs into the spool before letting it out so I mean I’m assuming it’s okay
  2. I left my drag tightened down on my two Shimano metaniums over winter so about 4 months I’m now worried I messed up the drag when I tighten them down all the way I can pull the line and get the spool to turn but I have to pull hard is this bad ? How do I know if I messed up the drag ?
  3. Yea I mean I can live with it knowing it’s not a actual problem with the reel however that is tempting to do ?
  4. Okay so it’s good to know I’m not the only one with the issue at least I just wanted to make sure I can continue to use it without it being a problem. For 420$ the mgl buzz shouldn’t be a thing lol
  5. I have been struggling with the shimano metanium mgl models in recent times I just got 2 brand new ones and the one I have been using more out of the 2 has of course once again started having a Geary feeling to it while retrieving my baits back to the boat.. again this is a brand new reel out of the box ! What’s the issue here are they starting to make these things different seems like in the beginning these things had zero problems and I keep running into issues it’s a great reel it’s just when that smoothness is not there anymore and what’s the specifics on where to put oil in this thing ?
  6. I ordered 20 jigs from dirty jigs and they smell like spray paint still lol um is that a bad smell for the bass or what ? And how do I get rid of the smell I closed them up in a bass mafia box wich does not let air in it’s water proof so I opened them today and they still smell the same obviously were fresh when sent but I was just curious
  7. Oh really that’s strange could you link it on here for me ?
  8. For some reason it stop when I cleaned the guides wich where clean .. and put new line on my reel ..?
  9. I have a NRX 894c rod pretty new and I noticed today that it is making a creeping noise when pressure is applied it’s strange almost as if the noise is coming from the first guide or the blank Iv never heard a rod make a creaking noise ? Especially on a 575$ rod .....? Anyone know what this could be pretty annoyed Like when I’m reeling in my jig I hear it bad cause it’s heavier when my rods up at a 1oclock angle like straight up
  10. Thanks man so basically it will go back to normal the more I use it ? Like the oil will work itself out
  11. I just oiled the bearing like took the side plate off and oiled the side plate bearing the spool bearing on the one side of the spool and oiled the part where the spool goes into the reel
  12. okay so I have a shimano mentanium and it’s new but I think i over lubricated the reel with the bantam oil maybe because after I was done I noticed it sounds like it’s making funny noises inside the reel right after I did it that it was not making before I’m really disappointed what should I do ??
  13. Yea I am gonna try this double improved clinch knot I snapped the line by pulling hard as I would on a hook set and busted the improved clinch with ease then I tried the double clinch knot and also broke that with my hands but couldn’t bust that improved double clinch knot as strange as that sounds
  14. Yea it may possibly be my hook set itself I’m not really sure it’s a mystery to me and is coasting my 5$ a break and great fish and I mean great ... like when I 6lber comes up and throws your jig right after it breaks off along with many other bass that have done this same thing
  15. Okay I’m good at bass fishing Iv been doing it for years but lately all of a sudden I’m busting off my jigs on the hookset I use a improved clinch knot with 17-20lb fluorocarbon invizX line on a heavy action St. Croix legend extreme it happens more than it should I tie my knots right ! I also use a knot Gerald swindle ties busted that ad well ... I didn’t think you could set the hook to hard on a jig honestly it’s not making sense to me I wet my knots I don’t pull them to tight anyone know what could be happening
  16. I want my cork to look good for a long time on my new loomis NRX rod thing was 600$ so i would like to not mess it up I ordered some u-40 cork seal good or bad idea and why ?
  17. Yea I know every rod company does not use micro guides it just seems like most do guess I didn’t mean it so literal ..
  18. I was going to buy 2 new gloomis glx casting rods jig and worm rods and I noticed they don’t use micro guides on there rods ? Strange seeing how every company typically uses them anyone know if there is a specific reason for why gloomis has not changed that ??
  19. I was just curious if anyone else noticed this with st. Croix rods or if I'm just overlooking it .. I have a legend extreme casting rod that at the reel seat it seems to creek a little when I hook into the fish like where the plastic is on the reel seat I can't get the real to move by handle it does not move at all I don't think .. just was woundering if it's a issue possibly maybe it's just the plastic they use on the reel seat and it creeks a little when pressure is put on it I don't know
  20. What size bobber stops should I use for Texas rigging creature baits weights anywhere from 1/4 5/16 3/8 1/2? They come in large medium small ?
  21. Yea I was thinking the 7'4 H or the 7'6 mh hopefully I can't get away with using Texas rigged creature baits and worms on biggers weights
  22. Well I guess what I'm asking is what people think the best rod from the legend extreme series of rods would best suite my fishing also forgot to mention I live in Michigan so I don't mess with braid usually I fish 17-20lb floro usually fishing laydowns submerged trees bushes and stumpy bottoms also weeds I like to fish open water with my jigs and Texas rigs as well so I just don't know what rod to choose out of those three legend extremes the 7'1 MH xfast or the 7'4 H fast action or the 7'6 MH moderate fast action I would love the 7'6 but it Dosent seem like a Texas rig rod or a jig rod cause I thought moderate fast were pretty much crankbait rods
