  1. I just ordered a whopper plopper size 90, and I was wondering if I could through it on my frog rod. Which is a a Lew's Mach speed stick 7'4 heavy, with a Abu Garcia pro max 7:1:1 gear ratio, and 50 lb power pro (I also throw swim jigs on this setup). I've read a couple other posts but none of them have answered my question, so I was wondering if some pros could help me out.
  2. I fish in a lot of stained water ponds with bluegill as the main forge. I'm just starting out fishing swim jigs, so what trailers would you guys suggest for these conditions?
  3. I have heard a lot about trimming one leg shorter than the other. Do all you "professional" frog fisherman recommend doing that, or just leaving them the same length?
  4. I just bought a new frog rod. It's a Lew's mach speed stick 7ft 4in, heavy power, fast action with 50lb power pro, but it has micro guides. Would that be a problem when frog fishing? I haven't fished with it yet, but it casts 50lb braid no problem.
  5. I was going to put it into my fly tying vise and bend it with a pair of pliers. Yep im waiting until the fish has it and reeling down.
  6. I like to fish for bullhead catfish, but I gut hook alot of them. I have tried 1/0 circle hooks, but I can't seem to hook the fish (I think the hook is too big). So I was wondering if I could take a size 2 or a size 4 bait holder hook and bend it into a circle hook. The bullheads aren't that big, maybe a half pound at best.
  7. Right now I have 15lb spiderwire spooled on my Pfluger Trion and its been working fine for the past few weeks (I mainly fish for small bass, bluegill, and crappie). I've been reading a few form posts that say the maximum braid size should be 10lb test... I have no reason to not switch to 10lb braid apart from cost. So should I stick to 15lb braid or make the switch to 10lb? It should also be noted I fish a 6lb mono leader most of the time (4lb if fishing clear water).
