  1. Good suggestions. I'll grab multiple diff lines that y'all have suggested. Losing big fish due to old line should not be an issue.
  2. Unless y'all are willing to come get your hands dirty and start this thang for some brews and a day on the water hah
  3. Thanks for the indepth responses, you guys know your stuff. I'm gonna have to study my motor and learn more about all the parts y'all mentioned.
  4. So it's been a long while since I've last ran my boat, and unfortunately it's not garage kept. I'm wondering if there are any tips to consider once I discover that my outboard won't start, because I'm fairly sure that it won't. I'll update the steps I take and the progress of the possible nightmare mechanical DIY.
  5. As mentioned in my introduction post, I've neglected my boat over the past 4 years. Well, I've also neglected all my rods and reels. I'm back in action fishing almost daily with line that's gotta be 4 years old. Landed a handful of 13-16 inchers and one that was about 3 pounds. Well this evening my foolishness caught up to me. Ran a crankbait over some brush that's by a dock and a giant ate it. Peeled drag from right to left then SNAP! Long gone, probably would have been a personal best. So with that I ask you guys, what're your personal favorite fluorocarbon and mono lines?
  6. Thanks for the welcoming wishes, y'all.
  7. Hi all, Just wanted to make my first post introducing (or reintroducing) myself to this wonderful community. My name is Casey and I was once a member here under the name "LakeAnnaBasser", but the email for that username is long gone so I figured I'd just start fresh. Anyways, I am back in the game. I started fishing when I was about 11 years old thanks to my pops being an avid angler. A 3 1/2 pounder on a texas rigged lizard is what got me hooked for life. By age 18 I got my first bass boat. Unfortunately I have neglected it over the past 5 years with college, forming relationships, roadtripping the country, and living in a saltwater area. I'm happy to say that I've graduated, got married to a lovely lady who enjoys fishing with me, and have moved out of that salty mess back down to Lake Anna where it all began. I am ready to get the boat back in the water and am looking forward to learning new techniques while taking my fishing to the next level. Oh, and most importantly I am looking forward to discussing many many things with the fine community of BassResource. Cheers, Casey aka Geese
