  1. Basic situation is, currently have one rod with two reels b/c of a snapped rod. My thought process is that I can just have the reels spooled with technique appropriate line and swap them out rather than buy a new rod. One reel is 6.3:1, other is 7.1:1. The rod is 7'1" MH Fast. I primarily fish plastics and light moving baits, but I occasionally punch and frog in heavier cover. I was thinking that I want one reel with 15-20lb Fluoro for everyday use and the other with 50lb braid for heavy cover. Obviously, I should put the braid on the 7.1:1 because cover needs the faster reel, but I like that reel so much more and I want to use it more often than the other one. Can I frog/punch with the 6.3 or do I have to suck it up and use that reel?

  3. Hi all For my birthday got Shimano Caius Reel (6.3-1) and No. 8 *** 6'6" MH. Rod snapped the other day after I stupidly went frogging with it. My budget allows me to get a new reel in addition to a replacement rod. Just ordered *** by *** 7'1" MH and Abu Pro Max low profile reel (7.1-1). Two questions Should I quit frogging/heavy cover fishing until I can buy a bigger rod? I want to have one reel with 20lb fluoro for all around open water fishing (cranks, spooks, light t-rigs, etc.), and one with braid for any heavy stuff I encounter. Which should be which reel? Thanks! JG Asterisks are for a rod that sound slike lefy by a brand called 7+6 fishing And first asterisks is for a power outage
