So may I ask a dumb question? I'm looking to get into Bass fishing; however, I'm not sure what is the weight range for a reel. Several people recommended this reel as a good starter and durable reel, but is the weight to low? Sorry rookie question I'm sure, thanks

Thanks for the advice. I starting looking at $35 reels, and slowly moving up to 100. I sense this will be an expensive sport. I'm telling my wife spending time with my son is priceless. Ha ha

In Massachusetts and interested in going fishing with my 6 year old son. My father and I fished a bit. Although we weren't expert fisherman, we enjoyed the father and son time spent together. Hoping my son and I can create that time also. Struggling to find the right reel and rod for me. Twenty five years ago, I had access to limited information, now there is a lot of information, and each equipment has its people who love it or hate. If you have any suggestions on rod and reel, within 150 range, I'm all ears. Bait casting and or spinning. Interested in using in fresh and salt water. Looking forward to being here and learning from all of of you.
