I ended up with a Dobyn's rod and really like it.

Here are some picutre's. Took her out today for the first time. It ran great and everything worked as it should. I am very happy. It ran right at 50 mph which im happy with for it having a 115hp. Thank you to everyone that commented and gave advise. caught the first fish in the new boat today. Nice 3.5lb largemouth. Many more to come.?

I picked her up late this afternoon so only have one picture as of now Heading to the lake for the first time in the morning. Say's file is too large. I will post soon using computer where I can shrink it.

Just bought the bost this morning. Looks brand new and they showed me print out with 10 hrs. The are putting 3 new batteries in it and an impeller kit just to make sure after sitting. They are detailing it and we go to the lake in it tomorrow. I will post pictures. Thank you to all that responded. It is greatly appreciated.

Update: when I got to the dealer this morning they had sold the 518. They have a 2014 Z117 with an Evinrude 115 on in. The boat only has 10 hours on it and got them down to $22,000. + tax. They are holding it until Monday. Told them I will be back Monday. The boat has sat at their dealership for 3 years. He said they will make sure it is ready to go. They are detailing it and will let me test drive on the lake Monday. Is this a fair deal and is there anything I should be cautious of since it sat? He said it is still under warranty. Is the Evinrude 115 a good motor?

I'm going to the Ranger dealer in the morning. He said he will make me a deal on a left over 518c. He said he should be able to do $36,000. I will let you know what he actual does. That puts me at $3,000. more than the Z18.

I'm looking at these two boats. The Ranger has a 115hp and is $30,000. The Nitro has a 150hp and is $33,000. What is my best way to go? I will be fishing lake Guntersville, Al, lake Mitchell, Al, Douglas Lake, Tn, lake Chicamauga, tn, etc.

I have an opportunity to purchase a Gloomis Conquest 903c mbr at a great price. I currently own Gloomis rods but not an mbr. Is this a good rod for worm and jig fishing? Can I throw small crankbaits like a DT4 with it?

It had basic electronics and trolling motor. My problem is I really want to be at $20,000. I don't mind basic things on the boat. I already have a Lorance Elite 9ti to put on my new boat. I will look at the Ranger z175 and see how much with basic package. If I buy used Ranger I want a 150hp or 200hp. I like to be able to run 55-60 mph but not neccessary.

I have someone buying my Skeeter on Wednesday and I have a question. I can get a new 2017 Nitro Z7 with a 115 4 stroke for $25,000. My wife wants me to get the Nitro. I like the Nitro but also considering a used Ranger. I can't see paying $70,000.00 plus for a boat. If I buy a used Ranger it will need to be under $25,000.00. Which way should I go?

I bought my Skeeter from guy in Tennessee and I live in North Carolina. I had to get motorized bill of sale. Two different ones along with a release from his credit union and the boat had been paid off for a year. Then got a letter saying my trailer might take up to 4 months while they do a lien search. It was a nightmare and in still waiting on trailer title from NC. It's doable but next time I will buy in NC. They also wanted his old registration for the boat which he didn't have.

I wear glass lenses. They are Costa Del Mars so hopefully shatter proof.

Are you not flipping the bail? Is it going on twisted? If so watch how the line comes off the top and onto your reel. You need to hold line sideways when you put it on and make sure it comes off the top.
