  2. Hey! where do you guy's get your paters to carve from.I am a whittler also and want to try my hand at some lures.then give them to my nephew as he can air brush. By the way good job whilllen Burr1
  3. Thanks flechero sounds like a good idea I have not made a rod in 30 years.I thinks this would be a good project. 8-)
  4. Thanks Hot N Tot for the info.yeah I'am both handed, when I was young I could pitch a ball with both hands.left being faster and more accurate. when I got my first spinning outfit the handle was on the left so I just used my right hand to cast it.When I got my first bait caster outfit the handle was on the right side of reel so casting with my left hand was natural.I never could understand the guys who would cast with their right hand then change hands to reel.Well now you know more about me then you ever wanted to.Thanks
  5. Need some input.I cast baitcasters with my left hand & spinning rods with my right hand.cant cast bait casters with my right have tried it to many times. Problem I have is that the fingers on my left have start going numb after many hours casting a flippin stick. So I was thinking about getting a heavy duty spinning rod for these duties,Does anyone have any suggestions as to brand ,length, lure weight.price,I dont get to go enough to justify a high priced rod. Thanks for your time & reading.
  6. Best top water bait I have ever used. And I have a bunch of them. I have thrown them for over 30 years and its still my #1 top water bait. And have caught fish on them from Lake Fork to Lake of the Woods canada.Just work it slow.Twich twich twich-stop-twich twich twich-stop,Good Luck!
  7. I would like to throw a little twist in on this topic. When you fish this rig or a regular c-rig ,instead of using your reg c-rig weight use a pig & jig or chunk.Use the same weight of jig as the size of the weight you would use.It works gives the fish a couple of targets.I was at a BPS big spring sale a few years back and was talking to Peter T and he told me to try this.Oh yeah make sure you still use your bead in front of your knot.It dosent matter which way the eye on the jig is turned.I kinda like the eye to be straight or inline because the jig will kinda pull sideways for more eratic action.
