  1. Thanks for the input! I am poor as well and this rod will be a major investment for me.
  2. I've been looking around on bassresource.com and couldn't find much on this rod. Has anybody used this or the Custom Speed Stick? I'm thinking about the Magnum Bass model. Any input would be appreciated.
  3. which did you end up getting? I'm looking to get a custom lite as well.
  4. Which rod do you think is better? I was leaning towards lews but then I saw the carbonlite combo and it looked better, plus if i got the combo it would be cheaper than me pairing up a tp1 and a mach 1 speed spool. They seen to be very similiar rods and reels.
  5. Thanks for the input! Maybe im misinterpreting this but wouldnt the bladed jig rod be better or as good since a chatterbait is a bladed jig?
  6. How well does the rod handle braid? Does it mess up the guides?
  7. thanks. I have a rod i think ill use for cranking so im ok with that
  8. Would any of you guys say the rod is too stiff to cast, say 1/4 ounce lures like a light texas rig or crankbait? I've heard some people say it doesnt cast lighter lures well but what do you guys say?
  9. Generally 3/8 ounce to 1/2 ounce. The cover is fairly light, just some sunken branches and i plan on using 30lb braid with a fluro leader
  10. Alright thanks for the replies guys! Would you reccomend getting a medium or medium heavy for an all purpose rod and i plan on using alot of jigs, chatter baits, spinnerbaits etc...
  11. Have any of you guys used the Lew's TP1 Speed Stick and/or Lew's Mach 1 Speed Spool? I was thinking of getting these and pairing them up together to be one of my all-purpose workhorse rods. I would be getting the 7-foot MHF rod. Any feedback is welcome!
  12. Ok, sounds good! Ok. I think I will save up for the lews for stuff like jigs and works and I can still use the ugly stick for cranking and stuff.
  13. Thanks for responses guys. I think I found a rod I want, but I’m still wondering whether you guys like graphite or composite better. Also, what lures do you throw on your graphite and/or composite rods? Thanks again
  14. Thanks for all the replies guys! I’m looking for something more around $100 maybe $120 at most, if it’s at all possible.
  15. Thanks for replying. I have looked at St. Croix Mono and they look good. They are probably my second option when I get a new rod.
  16. Thanks for replies I was thinking that too, the rod I was thinking of getting follows that criteria.
  17. Thanks for the reply. I’m using baitcasting gear btw
  18. So I have a composite rod, the Ugly Stik Elite. It’s ok and all but it doesn’t have great sensitivity and I was thinking of getting a graphite rod, more specifically the Lews Tournament Performance TP1 Speed Stick, 7’ MH Fast Action multi purpose rod. I don’t have enough money to get a certain type of rod for every type of lure and would rather have a rod that is decent for all baits. Do you guys prefer graphite or composite? Also, what baits do you throw on them? Edit: I’m talking about a baitcasting set up
