  1. Two different setups depending what I’m doing. #1 powell 755cb, 7:1 reel, 40lb braid I use this setup the most, long casts covering water. #2 kistler argon 7’ mh, 7:1 reel, 40lb braid I use this setup fishing around cover doing more target fishing in tighter areas.

  3. Which would be the better rod for 1/4-5/16 + plastic and 3/8oz jigs + plastic. It will be used specifically for flipping and pitching brush, laydowns and some pads nothing I’d consider real heavy cover. Any other recomendation in the imx line is welcome as well.
  4. This is what I have been throwing them on in open water (795) and Recently started more target fishing them mostly around laydowns, bushes and docks on a 764 I feel more accurate with the 764. Surprisingly no one seems to throw them on a lighter setup like this.
  5. Just wondering what everyone is throwing smaller glide baits and Swimbaits on like the s-waver 168, 6” triple trout, 5”-6” bullshad.
  6. 7’ MH ethos. Very versatile rod it works great for moving baits traps spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and topwaters also works great with light jigs and Texas rigs, senkos, swim jigs... for anything 1/2oz or less this rod will get the job done.
  7. Sounds like I’m gonna be pickin up the dobyns! ? any suggestions on a good reel? I plan on using 20# Andes until the huge spool I have is gone and then switching to 20# cxx
  8. Recently I’ve been getting into throwing some bigger Swimbaits, so far I’ve only thrown some cheap baits and now that I’ve developed enough confidence in throwing 5”-7” baits I want to get a dedicated setup for them. I plan on starting out mostly throwing the 5”-7” bull shad, some s-waver 168’s, 5” slow sink smash-techs, hudd 68’s etc. so 1-3oz baits for the most part. The only rod I’ve really looked at is the dobyns fury 795. Give me some recommendations on a good setup!
  9. 3/8oz with a stout 3/0 hook and a pretty stiff weedguard is what I’m going for I have a flat eye arky mold and a bass jig mold I plan on modifying to have a trailer keeper. I like the arky head a lot I’m just not sure if I like how wide the 3/8 head is on a small profile jig.
  10. Anyone make a compact flipping jig? I’d like to see what some others are making. Head style, hook, weedguard.
  11. It’s gonna be a 7’6” MH flipping and pitching rod. A St.Croix SCV blank, Fuji ecsm reel seat, Fuji sic or alconite guides and Eva split grip. I had thought about putting a weight in the butt like you mentioned and I also have a role of lead strip about 1.5” wide I thought about wrapping under the rear grip I just wasn’t sure it was the proper way of going about it.
  12. I’m fairly new to rod building and am currently building a flipping stick. I want the rod to be perfectly balanced. How is everyone adding weight to the butt of the rod internally? not using one of those bulky counterbalance kits.
  13. Fenwick elite tech river runner
  14. 6:1 ratio Will work fine! I use to fish everything on a 6:1 it’s a good in the middle reel.
  15. Casting setup- 6’10” falcon Cara head turner with a 6:1 reel of choice spinning setup- 7’ medium st.croix premier with a size 30 reel
  16. Not a fan of the zman heads but all the light wire hooks will rust from the salt over time.
